Just been quoted £480 for cambelt fitted is this the average price?I think im having a stroke right now

Seems a bit high, average price is around £300 -£350 inc new pullies and tensioner. Maybe check with some of the suabru specialist in your area. I'm sure someone on here will know of a decent one.

If the price is for the whole kit, belt, tensioner and pulleys, the parts alone could be £200 ish depending on model.

The job takes between 2-3 hrs and then you have vat so it all depends what the hourly rate is.

It's probably worth changing the water pump whilst in there too.

I would say £300 to £400 I would say was about the going rate. And as Tlag said Water pumps worth doing too :)
