TheKev
Afternoon all, I have lurked for many moons deciding if a forester would be a good buy and now I have a family it makes sense.. or thats what I told he wife lol I am wanting a 2.5xt 2006 prob as costs rise a little after that. I have spotted a few, but all miles away so might need to ask for help. Other than that, I love the look and the performance and how much space!!!!!! Plus I just have to have one... simple! I live in Preston but work all over the place. Hope to get good knowledge from you all and have a laugh... thats what life is about!

stants
Hi mate welcome, very capable car. I was deciding weather to go for an impreza wagon or foz. The foz won it for me due to the being a little more under the radar. Had mine just over a year now and loved every minute. I just wished it had snowed at christmas. Most of us have had to travel for good examples so don't be afraid to ask for help as we're all a friendly lot here
TheKev
Thanks for the welcome, I have spotted one I like but it is in London and I am not the most mechanically minded person about. I would go and see it but I live in Preston so it is a bit of a travel, and I work away from home and just had a baby so cant take too much time away from her. If there is any good people on London (near Ace Cafe) then give me a pm and I will give you details. Thanks Kev

stants
Seems cheap for the year, but looks tidy and all leather is in god nick, have you made any inquiries into it or have you just been browsing the classified ? One thing to bare in mind is being an 06 tax is £480 for the year There doesn't seem to be a great deal of info on it ? But I'd see when the belts were done last as its quite a big job. Theres a buying guide on here which is pretty handy not sure if you've had a look ?
Gambit
Hi mate welcome to S.O.C
TheKev
Spotted it a day or so ago, but haven't called yet due to work, and not being able to get a quiet 5 minutes. Was going to call tomorrow and ask about the service history, as I know the belts will be about 400+ ish for an specialist. I know mileage is high, but from everything I can find, if serviced and looked after a little then they are bullet proof!
david1972
Worth looking for a late 55 plate if you can find one mate...will save you over 200 sheets a year on tax. If you aren't in a massive rush, it may be worth the wait for something a little more local; say within 100 miles or so. I'll have a look on the trader to see if anything jumps out at me, although a turbo at that money could be hard to find
david1972
There's a Foz like stantons just off the m62 if you don't mind going back a generation....02 plate so one of the run out models, turbo, only 61k with FSH. Worth a call perhaps.... http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201406305418090?atmobcid=soc3
TheKev
Not a bad find there David, I might have to go have a look at that one. I did like the next gen though, and I am drawn to the black ones as well (no rude comments lol) Are there any members in the big smoke who know their stuff and could look at the 2006 plate one for me and /I will look at the 02 model myself. Thanks for the find though. I know the tax is a bugger, but I think the extra power and looks could be worth it... not sure until I find out more info. Really cant wait to get one though.... then a few little tweeks here and there to make it a little more me and I will pretend I am happy until I change something else lol. TheKev
It's a 3l petrol though and it's nice bit I do a fair few miles with work and it would kill me to fuel up a full tank each week if not more lol. Just keeping my eye out for a forester and fingers crossed it will be soon. It is tempting though.
david1972
It'll give you better mpg than a 2.5T Foz mate [emoji6]
