  1. I got my hands on a 52 plate Mercedes SL500, 5.0 V8 and all the toys you could want This is after just a wash rinse and dry This is after a polish using poor boys black hole and waxed using dodo juice hard candy All done by hand too
  2. I have had a quick skim read over what was said and it looks like scooby Pete has said what I was thinking, I know a guy that builds and races short wheelbase land rovers, he commented once on my drilled and grooved discs with stock pads, he said he only upgrades his pads, never his discs, he uses EBC pads, I have used the greenstuff ones in the past and they are awesome, it's one thing I'll be investing in at some point, also for certain models of impreza tegiwa do a thing called a brake flex stopper, when you brakes the bulkhead is that thin it bends under pressure loosing the stopping power you have, for £30-40 you can get them on ebay, my mate has one on his bugeye and it works !Removed! well, also on other cars I've had the braided brake lines are worth investing in, standard rubber ones tend to expand slightly when braking, good ridge braided ones stay the same so better braking, if you upgrade the discs, stock ones are goodfor general driving, if you are on and off the brakes a lot in a run you will get brake fade, this is the only time you should bother getting drilled and grooved tbh
  3. Thanks for the comments guys, sorry for the multiple replies but I can't multi quote on my phone
  4. I am more than happy to detail people's cars, be aware though Ido it all by hand so if iI do the whole works, clay bar polish wax and seal it's a days work all in, and it's £100 for the full money, that's £200 less than my mate charges at his details shop
  5. I have plans a plenty, but no cash for at least 8 months yet, I want a front mount, td05 turbo, sister ecu with anti lag and launch control, some lightweight wheels, either coil overs or lowering springs to close the arch gap a little, and eventually a paint job as the paints not all that clever to be honest, the side in the pics isn't bad but the nearside needs a few bits, I have upgraded the headlights and fog lights to late spec clears thanks to Dogma
  6. Yeh the brakes were courtesy of a mate of mine who'supgraded to some huge comp brake setup, iI got his 4 pots including the drilled and grooved discs for free, when he's fitted the 6 speed to his bug eye he is gonna do the rears as well, then he said he will throw the old ones my way, can't wait :-D
  7. Welcome aboard pal, I started going on forums many years ago just to gain knowledge on problems with my car, it's how most people find forums in the first place, always welcome to ask away
  8. Is there pics in this thread? They aren't showing on my phone :-(
  9. These are pics from the original advert This is when I got it one the drive and washed And these are after I detailed it the other day The wheels are a temp fit courtesy of Dogma whilst I refurb mine
  10. Lovely looking motor, and I want a white one so badly, best of luck with the sale pal Free bump
  11. Hid kits are an mot fail unless you have the following fitted Projector lenses for the hid to sit behind Washer jets for theheadlights Automatic suspension level sensors Basically the sswitch you have in the car for adjusting the headlights when you have a car full, for hid's these need to be fully automated, an hid equipped car will have little hydro sensors on each suspension strut that notice the smallest change in car angle and adjust the beam accordingly, it's rare to get a copper to check everything but if the see there's no projector you can get fined, if you are getting a H4 kit make sure it's a hi/lo kit as the H4 bulb is low and high beam in one bulb, most hid kits don't offer that
  12. Welcome aboard mate, look forward to getting a glimpse of your car too, happy posting ;-)
  13. No some belts are just stamped with the makers name, others have a direction and others like the subaru one have a line or two on to line up with certain points on the car
  14. Sorry pal, lost in translation ^o^
  15. Need pics Gambit, otherwise that comment is worthless lol
  16. The hard part of building an impreza engine is the block, splitting that and getting to the pistons and crank is a pain, the rockers and heads are easy enough, rocker covers can be removed in situ, heads need the engine out, mines leaking from somewhere, it's making a mess of the drive but I used to own old vw's so I'm kinda used to that, the only pain is smoke from the scoops when I'm at lights
  17. Exup, I wasn't slating it mate I was just saying, a sport gains almost 100bhp by adding a single turbo, you'd think a twin turbo would be a shed load more but it's not that high as the turbo's are only small, they aren't slow, just less power than I expected when I fist saw one on a rr
  18. Yeh the tank has a couple of pumps in, one feeds the main pump under the bonnet the other drags fuel from one side of the tank to the pump in the other side, if one pumps been damaged it could cause starvation, try the exhaust thing first
  19. I'm not very up on the legacy setup, I do know for a twin turbo car the powers quite low
  20. Yeh the full lot, only thing on the under side of mine is the metalwork on the scoop and breather vents
  21. It could be the fact it's a closed end cone, if you look at the Apexi cones they are open ended and the air goes straight up the intake, with a closed end cone some of the air acts like a cyclone inside the filter, could be that robbing the power I suppose
  22. I'd be surprised if I do 5k a year, it's used for the school run when the wife's at work, when she's not we have a diesel so drive that everywhere
  23. What about a din gauge holder, basically replaces the stereo with gauges, don't just look for subaru pods, try searching pods in general, mine was mounted on the steering column cowling
  24. Yeh might be worth cleaning all the earth's and checking they are all connected
  25. Welcome aboard fella, I used to live in Ashton under Lyne, also Denton and elsewhere, basically grew up in that area, love the manta in the other pic, was that a 400 or just the bonnet? Cusco wagon looks good too
