brake discs
i had the 2 pot brakes on mine with the speedline prodrive 17" rims on, brake clearance was fine, i then got the 4 pot bug eye brakes, calipers and discs fitted, i now have to run a 5mm spacer to clear the wheels, i have gained a fair chunk on the calipers though if your still unsure theres a guy near me that builds scoobies and is well known in subaru circles for his services, you can call him on 01254 689 994 that's the garage number 07931 211 871 that's his mobile he's called Brian and he owns Cams in Blackburn, if he can't advise you no one can lol

well she's a qualified nurse and is doing an 18 month top up course for midwifery, the idea was if she can't get a job as a midwife she has the nursing to fall back on but has wanted to be a midwife for some time and went into nursing deliberately as 1 it's a back up job and 2 it means a shorter course to be a midwife

Help....getting hot
with regards to aircon, you are supposed to regas them every year regardless if needed or not as like the power steering systems the fluid in the system is also the lube for the pump, like engine oil this will degrade over time, and in winter when your not using the aircon it's worth turning it on for a minute or two to let the clutch engage in the pump and circulate the fluid

i've had a mk2 golf, that was a fun car to drive, i put numerous engines in it including the 2.8 VR6, i thought i'd never have a car better than that for the fun factor but the impreza puts a massive smile on my face all the time, by far the most fun car i've owned and driven yeh Dogma lives down the road from me as for the headlights, i found the easiest was to swap bulbs it remove the headlight unit, 1 screw for the side light, 4 10mm bolts for the headlight and they are off

For Sale Double Din Stereo Unit
i have a Pioneer F310BT double din head unit, heres a link for the spec http://www.extremeaudio.co.uk/products/pioneer---avic-f310bt/2280/ it's rammed with features and i was more than impressed with it for the short time i used it, the box still has the sticker price of £750, it was used for approx 5 months, it was brand new when i bought it just old stock from a shop, everything it with it that came with it when i got it it's sat in the garage wasting away as i don't have a double din to fit it to £350 ono if anybody requires pics of the actual unit just ask

parts are starting to cost a fortune now as more people have them and sellers have twigged so put the prices up, plus the amount of times i have had to repair the vw's whereas the impreza has only had £40 spent on it for repairs snce i've had it, parts are so easy to remove on them too, a vw takes 6 x 12 spline bolts to hold a driveshaft on and it's a 2 man job to undo, the impreza has one roll pin, it took me and Dogma nearly 3 days to change a steering rack on my old golf, it took Dogma about an hour to swap on on his own on the impreza, plus the V6 engine from early golfs has an amazing soundtrack but not that much power to back the noise up, the impreza sounds immense even without a turbo lol

no worries bud, as i was typing about the sticker the bosswife saw it and started giving me a lecture about that fact i don't NEED it for the car so at the moment i'm not allowed to buy anything unless it's NEEDED oopps, was that a hole i saw in the top mount intercooler hun, think i need a new one, may as well get a front mount instead

FORESTER SUSPENTION

removing the tow bar
i had a tow bar on my last car, best towbar i've ever seen, you take the neck off with the twist of a knob then the electris unit was on a hinge that tucked under the bumper, the previous owner had it for towing a jetski, it had never towed anything heavier, one of my neighbours has an 800cc Daewoo Matiz, he made his own towbar for it and uses it for pulling a small trailer, not everybody uses them for caravans just to be clear, i too f**kin hate caravaners too :D oh and usually the towbars are just bolted to the car, if the bolts aren't visible through the boot floor under the carpets that usually means they are captive nuts on the top side of the bar, if you were closer i'd offer to help you remove it with my air gun, much easier and quicker than a ratchet

cambelt change
i'd be lost without a few of my mates helping out :(

FORESTER SUSPENTION
it's made quite a difference on Dogma's, the mudflaps sit about an inch, maybe 2 at the most from the floor, that was using stock non turbo impreza struts and springs, the springs looked the same size but the struts were definatly shorter on the impreza, i think it was the top mounts on the rears had to be swapped as the impreza was different but the fronts went straight on oh and the wheels on his originally were 16" but with MAHOOSIVE balloon tyres, now he has 17" with low profiles

cambelt change
it's more expensive for the scooby engines as the quad cam design, uprated belts and numerous idlers and tensioners means parts alone aren't cheap, then the pain in the **** job of fitting, i bought mine with it already done, i have since discovered that what i thought was a rocker oil leak may actually be the crank seal so i may be doing this job myself in the foreseeable, i will try and get pics as i go through it to help anyone in the future

Thingy in my coin tray
yeh the keypad needs to have the * and # symbol for you to be able to program it, the lesser sigma M20 alarms (one light to the right of the button on the fob) only have the numbers and they are dealer only and have less features, most of the imprezas got the sigma M30 (3 lights at the top of the fob) which has a whole host of features as can be seen from the link aboove that Dogma posted or here
-
cambelt change
i can tell you from experience that if you have the belt done then its a MUST to get the tensioners and idlers done too, i ignored this advice once from a qualified mechanic and i just did the belt as it was cheaper, a week or so later driving up the motorway, at a considerable speed, the tensioner left the vehicle and decided to go for a wander leaving me with 6 bent valves out of 16, luckily my mate fixed it for the cost of the parts and ported and polished the head whilst waiting for the new parts, but a lesson ;earned the hardway

my forester pic
looks better with the wheels and the impreza suspension helps too, nice and low but not overly so, you need to bring it round for a decent detail on it mate, it'll look a million dollars when it's done

cheers guys, always wanted one but when i went in a stock uk turbo i wasn't that impressed then my mate bought a bug eye and as he's power hungry he went up to 418bhp, i then went to a subaru rolling road day with about 12 lads, all doing 3 runs, went back to my mates in his bug and got in my v6 golf, i thought my engine had fallen out it was so quiet, i started the hunt and found mine thats had a few tweaks taking it roughly to 250bhp, although the guy i got it off was adament it was over 300 lol
