  1. Was just looking at your first post on this thread amazing how far its come along a bit at a time
  2. You should do a bit of research on your engine before you go too far 2.5 can be weak especially when modded take your time and get it right 👍
  3. Whats your plans for it? Remember a lot of sti bits can be swapped on
  4. You didnt open them did you 🤣
  5. Yeh got it aswell its turning into a train 😂
  6. Nice wait til you see difference from remap makes an impression
  7. Seats aint comfy enough anyway 🤣😂
  8. 😂🤣😂🤣 a scooby gang bang ill pass 🤣😂🤣
  9. Haha i got exact same message just literally came on to post this 😂🤣
  10. Its probably not really worth it would be better just getting a wrx but have a look here anyway
  11. Stants is spot on, my 04 wrx has been installed by previous owner by a t piece at the manifold right next to the alternator (red cap)
  12. Im no expert on car values but id say its probably worth about 4.5 - 5k, there is one on auto trader With more miles going for over 6k but id say thats overkill maybe in another few years. Condition is a major factor where value is concerned
  13. Nice one welcome and enjoy your new sti, not sure on your model i have an older 2ltr wrx. I have heard about a cooling mod you can do think its for cylinder 4 but not sure if thats just if your modding it. A good panel filter is a good start on these cars 👍
  14. Theres a section in this video where the guy talks about engine codes n that its about 15 mins in not sure if it will help you
  15. Offt luck if i spend £500 a year in fuel 😂
  16. They cable joiners are a great idea keep that on mind aswell 🤔
  17. Managed to change thermostat and coolant (when i was supposed to be working 🤫😂) seams to be fine now so it may have just been an air pocket when I removed a coolant hose for access when fitting inlet pipe ( left it off overnight by accident) old themostat looked ok no crud build up or anything just changed it anyway gonna boil the old one in water to see if it is faulty just so i know for reference
  18. Good point from savage there always look into a tuner before using them 👍
  19. As to how much worse the 2.5 is im not sure just know theres been alot of failures. The 2.0L is generally more reliable but again depends how its been looked after and if/how its been modded they are not invincible but ive had 2 go over 100kmi and been reliable👍. My advice would be to test drive one because they are genuinely a great driving experience. Plenty people use wrx’s and stis as daily and just keep it serviced regular. Being handy with a spanner and ratchet can save you a fortune as-well because the basic serving on these cars are fairly easy. Your call your cash if it was me id punt the 4 figure repair bill daily and get a scooby but im obsessed with my subaru 😂 Its fun practical and looks and sounds brilliant
  20. You might get a used sports cat from breakers there jdm solutions and mb developments you could try on facebook or have a look on ebay. You can buy sports cat new from likes of scoobyworld or scoobywork and a few more not very cheap new though.
  21. You can get it a licensed map like ECUtek or whatever its called around £500 or you can get an opensource map thats what I done live on the road was £240. I dont know what the difference is entirely but ive had no issues with my map. Best bet email/ phone some tuners nearby you for prices n that
  22. Jdm sti will have a better engine, i think its 2L aswell instead of 2.5L on uk model which make it £500 a year to tax. The gb270 is a Wrx with prodrive bits it is a limited edition but can probably get an sti for same or not much more, jdm does make you more cool scientifically 😂
  23. The 3 port just gives better control over the boost for the mapper i dont think its essential however, it was recommended to me to have one fitted before mapping my car. Good luck mate 👍
  24. Id definetely add an uppipe to this list mate Even a catless sti one will be better and a 3 port boost solenoid maybe all that looks ok as long as you have a remap planned as soon as you have fitted these parts. Be careful you dont push too much power through your 5 speed gearbox, general opinion is its fine for 350bhp max but bear in mind your transmission is getting old now good luck find a good mapper and you should be have a pretty good result from your upgrades.
