  1. A lil bit more than I thought , but your right that's why I do my plugs every year for the sake of £60 or whatever can save you a lot in the long run .. Yes that's why I like the Cosworth it's just I might try the hks next time as that's a dry type to but doesn't have the ripples init like the Cosworth, now I've cleaned it it can stay till the spring then I will swap it I think.. I've had k & n filters before and I don't like the oil type and the ruin the maf. although I'm sure plenty of people run them with no issues but I'm not a fan . Which is a shame because the mishimoto short ram kit I had my eye on is an oil type filter :( and most kits are for the hatch Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk
  2. That's interesting so you just replace you don't bother cleaning? they are quite inexpensive really the drop in filters about £20 I mite just try an hks one in the spring as I prefer the dry type Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk
  3. Yeh, I always find it amazing when you see the big turbo drag cars where the turbo is completely exposed with no air filter! I know the chances of hoovering up crap is unlikely on a drag strip but still.... I know it's crazy and occasionally you see these street cars running open turbos I think I would be on my 4th motor this year if I was to do that Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk
  4. Lovley looking motor sounds like a well sorted setup to ;) Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk
  5. Ahh cool I've read your intro thread ;) .. do you know who did the build for you ?i like the look of the front mount with the black grill is that a Zun sport ? . I'm looking to get some handling mods for mine next and a zorst lol, I want that scooby growl . Yes would be good to meet up I'm not about this weekend you down fareham way next weekend? Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk
  6. It was weird because the turbo side was mint but the inlet side looked ten years old so it's clearly a very effective filter , but it hadn't been looked at for over a year about 10k miles . Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk
  7. I spent ages trying to sort this with multiple different types of pads on my hatch . But it doesn't seem to be happening ATM " touch wood" I think once the pads bed in a lil bit it goes away . But as sandals said it's completely harmless Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk
  8. I'm still running a full under tray and the resonator still too . But I think it might be more the design of the cosworth as its rippled it traps the bigger bit instead of the falling to the bottom of the box. I think I've defiantly regained a few hp , but hopefully be going to a short ram system soon Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk
  9. So my car went in for a service today , so yesterday I thought it would be a good idea to give my air filter a clean. I have a Cosworth drop in dry filter . It's been in about a year now . and before when I've had cone filters on previous cars I've never bothered cleaning them before. How often do you guys clean or replace yours? Because when I took it out the box it was the dirtiest filter I've ever seen it had tiny twigs grit and all kinds of crud in there I've never seen anything like it, i wish I took a pic . I should've done it months ago lol , now It's done the car feels much nicer too. But doe the filter get more dirty as it's an enclosed system ? Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk
  10. Would be interesting to see what oil does come in the cars from the factory Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk
  11. I think it looks just as good without the wing Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk
  12. I recon it would be as manufacturers are allways trying to make service intervals longer , are engines not bench run before they go in cars anyway ? Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk
  13. The car has done 1000 miles even after a full engine build after 1000 fully synth is fine Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk
  14. Hahahaha Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk
  15. Only because the dealer wants to pull your pants down , I have very little faith in dealers, I doubt they would even put the correct oil in anyway judging on my experience with them , I would say providing your own oil is prob the best thing to do Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk
  16. I use shell helix ultra 5-40 one of the best oils you can go buy off the shelf ;) Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk
  17. Yup that was me . It's had a full engine build and got RCM headers and de cat down pipe , and just a Cosworth panel filter and Perrin intake pipe with a Gtx2871 it made 392 on the dyno about a year ago but I've added a much bigger top mount since, but it needs another map really. Just need to get a few other bits first . Your car seemed pritty rapid tho sounded good too ;) Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk
  18. Welcome [emoji1309] . be sure to get plenty of pics up of the exhaust mods and a video would be good . How does the price of that compare to the price of a cat back. Also good to see a few 2017 owners joining up ;) Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk
  19. Some nice progress here what other mods do you have lined up ? Could I recommend the ht autos bottom line kit sets the car off nicely ;) Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk
  20. You find unless you have the blowers set to just the top very little air comes through those vents . Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk
  21. One of my friends used to say the hatch looks like a Mazda speed 3 ... We don't talk anymore lol Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk
  22. Well it's defiantly different lol Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk
  23. Nice motor [emoji1305] any more pics ? Any mods ? Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk
  24. Looks really good fancy doing mine for me ;) lol how easy isit to remove the facia around the stereo ? .. And Astra/ zaf vxrs are less reliable than 2.5 Scoobys great cars but gearboxes and sensors are made of chocolate and the corsa Is even worse their engines are made of chocolate lol Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk
  25. I'm not sure last Saturday you got on at Whitley heading towards Pompey you would remember if it was you I was in the scooby hatch ;) Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk
