  1. Bump, big price drop if gone by the weekend to £7900
  2. Cheers mate, yea not the best. But needs must. Price dropped £8500 :(
  3. Subaru BRZ for sale Mileage is 48205, may rise slightly SE Lux model, has cruise control, heated seats, keyless entry and start, climate control, air con, folding mirrors, Pioneer navigation/stereo system with Bluetooth functionality and hands free. Recent MOT until March 2020. No advisories. Last service at 47857 miles in March carried out with MoT with receipt. Previous partial service history, 11744 miles with receipt 21776 miles with receipt Receipt for oil and filter in May 2017 between MoTs at 35399 and 42885 miles. New taillights were fitted in March 2016 due to water ingress (common issue) Still stay dry. New higher capacity battery recently fitted, common issue, can now start after 2 weeks of no use. New rear pads in March 2016 and fronts November 2017 Couple of small mods Milltek Cat back exhaust Takedo air intake Lowering springs, still clears speed bumps but wheels fill arches much better. HT Auto side skirts and front splitter. The Splitter has a scrape on it as shown in the pictures. Misjudged a curb. Has the odd stone chips to be expected for the age. But mostly looks great. All wheels are mark free. Lower price is because the car is a Cat D repaired at beginning of 2017. Front passenger side damage. new bumper, light and wing plus brackets and everything else required for fitting. Suspension checked and all ok. Don’t let this put you off it drives great and wouldn’t know if it wasn’t recorded. Plus many of these cars are accident damaged and repaired without being declared as you’ll see if you’re on any forums or Facebook groups. Least you know where you stand with this one. I have the HPI check from my purchase available too. Valve spring Recall carried out 20th May. Had spark plugs changed at same time and clutch checked, plenty of life left. Test drive welcome as long as you have proof of temp insurance for it. Otherwise I’ll be driving. If you require any more info please don’t hesitate to contact me. Located in Sheffield.
  4. I’ve checked the ticket and it’s down in my name and car ref so not transferable. I have paid for the refund protection, don’t know if it covers 1 day before but will give it a go. Sorry again. I was really looking forward to this too. Washed and polished he car last weekend in prep :(
  5. Really sorry but I’m not going to be able to make it now. My partner is back in Hospital again. She’s got Crohns so is in and out all time and ended up back in again last night [emoji21]. Timing as always seems to happen when I’ve got a show planned and already paid! Obviously need to stay local now though. Are tickets transferable? Anyone want it?
  6. I’d be up for that too. I’m Sheffield so can tag along somewhere after along M1? Might not be able to keep up though, only in a BRZ lol. Unless it’s sold by then...
  7. I’m a electrician and I detest car electrics, they’re a dark and evil art. More electronic than electrical (bigger difference than you’d think) the stuff in cars. Always a million ****** cables everywhere you look in cars too. Good luck haha!
  8. Just signed up and paid [emoji106]
  9. Don’t tempt me! I’ve already been looking at supercharger and turbo kits! Haha. Far too much money on these though, may as well buy something else if I go that route. Plus don’t want to ruin reliability after worrying about engines blowing up for last 7 years lol
  10. After 3 Impreza’s ive now gone for a BRZ. & im loving it! Yes it’s down massively on power compared to my tuned Scoobies, but I’m having a great time in it, especially on the current wet roads :) Only got the ad pics at the minute thanks to the weather but she’s a beaut! Nice having something a bit more modern and refined for a change too. Mostly though I’m enjoying not having to worry about it rusting or worry about the engine deciding to randomly blow up on me at some random time, or driving it on salty roads. Can just drive and enjoy it :) just hope I don’t get bored of the low power too quickly. First job though is to get a UEL manifold put on it to get that burble back!

  12. 1st view tonight. Sending me deposit tomorrow he says. Nope, not long at all haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Basically as Tidgy said. The gearing means It’ll be at 3700 revs at 70 so a thirsty and noisy on motorway trips. And no specific quirks in my ownership, just check the DCCD works correctly. Other than that, rest of it is usual Classic Impreza checks. Mainly check for rot and bad repairs! You won’t regret it. I love mine!! I’ll be proper gutted to see it go :( shame you weren’t looking sooner mine is for sale. May have got a buyer though...
  14. Thanks! ****, sorry forgot to put it on. £9700
  15. Yea, sounds just like a Impreza :). Except for maybe even more pronounced since it doesn't have a turbo. The one I've put a deposit down on already has a Milltek catback which sounds great, I'll be mega once I install the UE headers! Mines for sale now 😭😭
  16. With a heavy heart I've got my 1997 Subaru Impreza STi Type R for sale. Selling just because I don't use it enough. I've only done just over 4000km in the last couple of years. Most of that is from taking it out once a week, sometimes 2 weeks just to keep the fluids moving, stop it seizing up etc. Always properly warmed up and cooled down. MOT until August 2019, no advisories. Currently on 84156km (speedo hasn't been converted). Will rise slightly as I keep it running. Service items: Cambelt and water pump August 2015 at 76881km Clutch October 2015 something around 76881km Diff and Gearbox Oils September 2017 at 80958km NGB 7b Plugs fitted January 2017 79822km Mods: SC 36 Turbo RCM fuel rails and uprated fuel lines Fuelab Fuel Pressure Regulator HDi Front amount Intercooler Zero Sport Air Intake Blitz Nur Spec turbo back exhaust (with removable baffle) Mishimoto 3 Port Oil Catch Can Aluminium Radiator Samco Top and Bottom rad hoses Colossus Fuel Pump Mishimoto low temp Thermostat Remapped by Andy Carr in October 2016 at 77576km. 2x switchable maps, low for better fuel and for running with exhaust Bung. & high. Toggle switch also fitted for anti lag. Running approximately 330-340bhp on high. Road mapped so no graph. Andy advised injectors were holding the turbo back from making its full capable 360bhp. I've got some Tomei 740cc injectors and fitting kit but never got around to doing it, these will be included. BC BR Coilovers fitted and full set up done by Carnetix August 2015 at 76881km Refurbished Brembos plus new discs and pads on the front fitted September 2018 Brembo Clearing Spare Included Toyo Proxes all round Inovit Tarmac Alloys 17" Pro Sport Oil Pressure, Oil Temp and Boost gauges fitted. Version 6 front conversion with crystal lights I had it stripped and fully rustproofed at Krown Rustproofing in February 2018. On their inspection it got a zero rust rating. Known problem areas arches and sills are rust free. Before the Krown rustproof it had also been undersealed in 2016. The car was imported in 2008. In 2009 it was taken off the road until 2015. In this time it was fully stripped and had a full respray and this is when some of the modding took place. The previous owner then had money issues not long after that and that's when I got it. I haven't got the pictures of the spray work being done but I'll try and contact him to see if he's still got them. I've got proof of servicing at 76881, 79144, 80958 and 83587 since entering this country. First MoT was at 75774 in 2008. In October I had a winter protection detail carried out by Cleandetail in Doncaster. Bad Points The front plate has come off, I've got the original size still in windscreen as visible from the pictures but I've also got a smaller one. Buyer can decide what they want to fit. There's a crack on the front splitter as per the pictures again. This happened at Santa Pod where I misjudged how high the path was in relation to the grass field I was in. The Spoiler has a paint chip, visible in the pictures. I have a Stormforce cover (also included) and on a extremely hot day it blistered on the spoiler before I had chance to remove it causing that chip. £9700
  17. May have just put a deposit down on a BRZ... Least I’m staying in a Scoob! Lol. I test drove a few different cars. None of them compare to me Impreza but the gt86/BRZ were the most enjoyable. The 350Z was just too heavy, even with the extra 100bhp+ the BRZ actually felt slightly faster. Especially in the last 3000revs. Can get UE headers for it to keep that burble in my life too [emoji23] Just need to sell mine now

    Advice

Yea, fair enough my mistake. Still better for his modified car though either way lol[emoji106]

    Advice

10w50 is a lot better quality so if anything that’s better. In fact if yours is modified I wouldn’t put anything less than 50 in it.
  20. Yea I’m gutted mate. I still may not go through with it. Will see after driving a few others, if nothing impresses I’m just going to have to stop being a ****** and start using it more without worrying. Never know, it may not sell for what i want either in which case I’ll defo keep it and give it some use without feeling as bad.
  21. Can’t say I agree, I testdrove a GT86 a couple of days back, great fun! Had it wheelspinning and sideways out of a couple of junctions made me genuinely laugh out loud. The lack of poke is really, REALLY noticeable though not sure I could live with it. Got a few 350Zs I’m going to look at soon hopefully they’ll be better in that respect, the weight might be a killer on those though, will see.
  22. To be honest I’ve been leaning most to the 350Z. It’s Jap for a start, close on power to my scoob (if a lot heavier!) and always liked them. Plus who knows how long I could own a 2 seat car for. Surprised they’re not much to tune up a bit though always assumed they would be since it’s a big N/A 6 cylinder lump. Might have to look into that. Know where there might be some info on that project? Went to see a GT86 today too, got to say very nice car. Think the power might be a issue though. But seen a UE length manifold For it I could get to retain that Subaru burble... which is a MAJOR plus point. Couldn’t test drive it though, going back tomorrow. Will try and get to see a Z too. No local 330’s as yet.
  23. It’s not even a daily... [emoji23]. Gets used usually once a week, sometimes 2 weeks and that’s usually to keep fluids moving, battery charged and stop anything seizing up lol. Like I say my main issue is it’s a 20+ year old scoob sat outside (admittedly with a cover and £100’s spent on rustproofing) and a lot of my money is in it. It’s just not getting the use it deserves and hasn’t got the garage queen life it needs for its lack of use. Afraid I find most of the VW car group boring as !Removed!. Sorry. Thanks for the input though [emoji6]. I’d be interested in the V7, especially after I’ve seen how much you’ve put into it but thinking of getting something different for time being. Had 2 blobs before the Scoob Type R so may as well see what else is out there.
  24. Long story short. I’ve got a expensive Type R which most of my money is in. But, I haven’t got a garage. It stresses me out, I’m just worrying about it rotting or going wrong from being sat outside in **** weather too much. It’s got a cover over most of the time but that’s not ideal and when I want to use it I sometimes end up not bothering because I can’t be arsed faffing with the cover. I spend more time worrying about it than enjoying it basically. I’m thinking of selling up and buying something else to actually enjoy and not worry about until I can get a house with a garage and then buy another Type R. Maybe even the one I’ve currently got back. Thing is what do I replace it with? Budget maximum £10k, no minimum. I’ve narrowed it down to: Toyobaru GT86/BRZ (high mileage one with my budget) Nissan 350Z BMW 330i coupe Honda Integra DC5 Honda Civic Type R (any gen really it’s not a keeper) 2010+ Megane RS Any other suggestions? Anyone got a BRZ/GT86 who can tell me what to look out for and what they think?
