Recently went and got a winter protection detail done. Car looks mega afterwards and paintwork feels like silk. Should help keep winter grime off and repel any salt for the odd time I take it out. Well happy, not bad for a old un :) -

I’d defo recommend a pro to do it for you. If you can get Krown Rustproofing in Birmingham are brilliant. They basically strip the car, and they get into all the cavities. The stuff they use is like a permanent WD40 which works it’s way into all spaces. Only needs a slight touch up every 3 years and all good. It’s clear too so looks standard still nd doesn’t hide any rust which may be forming without you knowing like some of the others do. If you really want to do it yourself get in touch with them I’m sure they’ll sell you the stuff if you want. I know you can get little spray cans but not sure about enough to do a car

50 already?! Must have caned it! Wish I had some more spare time so I could do same, itching to play it more. I’m about 22. Ah forgot about the auction house, good pointer. Think I’ll wait for barn find for 22b though, will be more exciting haha

Surprised there’s no thread for this. Anyone else got it? I’m absolutely loving it!! 3 left me a bit cold for some reason I can’t quite place but this one is fantastic. The dirt race series is great fun, makes it a arcadey rally cross game really. The Hawk Impreza you get at the start is way too good to be honest though. It’s just too good an all rounder, I’m having to force myself to use other cars, wish there were more reasons to shake it up a bit. Also, no classic Imprezas?!?! I have heard the 22b is a barn find though, hope that’s true.

Anyone know what you use for this? It’s a black tacky substance that never fully dries. The one that’s between the light and the bodywork not the light itself BTW. I’ve heard some people use some heavy duty sealant but I don’t want to make them that hard to remove so want to use the proper stuff. Any ideas what it is?

Pilot Sports are meant to be amazing for dry weather grip. If you’re wanting a more all round tyre though I highly recommend the Goodyear Eagle F1’s. Brilliant dry weather grip and really really good wet grip.

I should hopefully be able to make it again. Will know for sure in a couple of days.

Gutted mate! !Removed! typical ain’t it? Always something. Just as I sorted my intercooler out, on my way home a massive boulder got shot up by a truck which has taken a massive chunk out in mine. Just had a chip repaired recently too. Not sure if this one is going to be too big... As for the classic being savage, completely with you! Different beasts! Both my blobs were running more power than my current classic, the classic feels faster and more alive on the road though, by quite a margin. It’s the reason I made the change to one :)

Had a little issue with my intercooler pipe rubbing on the bonnet. Went to a place called Custom Pipes in Doncaster who did a brill job fabricating one to fit in the very tight space at RHS of the engine so it no longer rubs. Well impressed with their work. -
Use Samco from RCM or scoobyworld. Still a lot of money but the top and bottom ones go most often so getting good quality ones pays off.

Have to arrange a meet or go to a show mate. Want to see your new one too, looks mega. -
Know it sounds silly and probably checked it but are all your front mount pipes properly sealed and connected? I had a similar issue and found one of the silicone connecting pipes was very slightly loose letting a small air leak through. Not much at all but enough to cause these same symptoms. I imagine it’s already been checked, especially if you’ve been to a couple of garages already but worth pointing out in case. Check especially where it goes into the wing on yours.

Just a little update as per my space saver thread for anyone whose read this and also wondered about spacers. I rang Carnetix a bit back (a very highly thought of handling/set up company) and they’ve confirmed 5mm spacers are nothing really. Don’t need any at back (unless chasing milliseconds on lap times) and no need for set up tweak at that size. Also confirmed studs will be fine (known from cars they’ve worked on for years with them) and as long as there’s at least 4 turns on the nuts, all’s good. Put my mind at ease a bit :). Just put in my new newage STi space saver too, perfect fit in a classic :) -
Very nice Dave! Bet you’re well pleased :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Brembo Space Saver In Classic

Just a little update for anyone else wanting info on this. Got mine and fits like a dream. Just as Savage says. Also rang Carnetix regarding my spacers. Told me no need to fit them to the rear and no need for a set up tweak. 5mm is basically nothing. Sweet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

No probs. Yea it's a shame because I've seen loads of theirs which I thought looked good but not worth taking that chance really. Welcome by the way 👍

My advice? Don’t buy from Cheshire Perfomance no matter which you get! It’s one of those that’s gone bankrupt and set up under numerous new names many times. Heard loads of reports from people buying from that same company (& it’s previous names) where engines have blown + other issues. When I’ve been buying before, always been warned off them. Obviously not all of their cars can be bad but it’s a higher chance you’ll get a bad one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Brembo Space Saver In Classic
mfnick replied to mfnick's topic in Subaru Tyres / Wheels & Suspension
Awesome, thanks Savage. Yea I’ve emailed Matt about them but he couldn’t remember if they fit or not. Will get one from him now :). & thanks for the spacer info too. Think 3mm would be fine for mine too, would give me a extra turn on the wheel nuts as well which is another worry. But I’ve done over 150miles now and been checking them and they’re fine so I’m probably worrying over nothing. No judder at high speed either. Do the spigots stick out through the 3mm or are they shorter than those even? Been thinking about getting some for the back, another thing I keep hearing mixed messages on. Would rather not if I don’t have to but would make sense. Might give Carnetix a ring tomorrow and ask them their advice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Anyone know if the 100PCD space saver in Blob STi’s which clears the Brembos fits in the classics boot space? Or if anyone has the above would they be willing to take me measurements of the diameter (including tyre) and max depth for me please? Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Good to hear. My only concern is that I don’t believe you can get 5mm hubcentric ones as they’re too small (I’ve looked high and low for some, even emailed eibach) Meaning the weight is on the studs alone, none on the spigot. Whereas the hubcentric ones effectively extend the spigot spreading the weight a Little better. But I’ve read loads of people say they’ve never had a problem with them on for years even and on track. So must be ok for my fast road use. Seems to just be people who’ve never used them saying they’re bad just based on their own theories. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
