My circumstances are going to drastically change in the next month
It's ins too, I found out it's more than double to insure a turbo the same year as a non, I mean ffs, I know they're more powerful but not that bad, I don't think so. That's another main reason for changing, but I'd like to keep with the awd if I can

WRX fluctuating idle (mainly highish)
The belts are fine so it's not that
-
WRX fluctuating idle (mainly highish)
I know, and if they're not reading it that's it, even if they are they might think, I'm not taking bits for someone I don't know....don't blame them, see what happens if anything

WRX fluctuating idle (mainly highish)
Don't know unless they're reading this

No don't have it, I'll try the spray too, it's jus a pita, they're thirsty enough without high idling using up more !Removed! juice

WRX fluctuating idle (mainly highish)
Took icv out, clean as a whistle...the gauge behind it's a bit dirty but nothing bad at all, does this mean it's probably knackered

And NOT for the better.....I need to cut the ins and fuel bill of the car (95 wrx wagon) I've been offered the same year and type but non turbo, rd tax is the same but ins is less than half....but what difference in mpg SHOULD a non turbo impreza wagon be compared to the turbo. Or am I aswell selling and going for something else that's not awd

Is my car a wrx sti
I know.....I've been offered a swap.... same car same year but a non turbo...might do it
-
Is my car a wrx sti
Yea I think so
-
Is my car a wrx sti
I know, it's the way i got it, I wouldn't do that either but I know there's some who will....so it's a plain and simple wrx
-
Is my car a wrx sti
There's no mention of "wrx" or "sti" on the hpi reports either, Infact the only mention of it anywhere, is the receipt from the importer in 06 and says impreza est wrx.....wtf's going on!
-
Is my car a wrx sti
It's only on the tailgate, quite a big "wrx" and "Subaru impreza sti" below, the sti is red lettering.....I'll phone them tomorrow.....I'm sure someone's changed the tailgate then if it should say on the log book, whether an import or not, as you say This is all it says at the make and type in the log book
-
Is my car a wrx sti
I'm having doubts......it says it on the tailgate but nowhere else ie no oval badge on the lower wings, no plate on the top of the strut, no emblem on the Nardi steering wheel or seats....I also don't think there's any mention of it on the log book. I'll check the hpi reports shortly, it might say something on there but maybe not. I found a vid on you tube last night of what looks like a genuine one ie all badges ect.....I was also told that sti's have the "red top" engine, mine doesn't So, has someone just put the wrx sti tailgate on it.... Meant to say...I've got the pink grill badge and strut brace unless someone through the years has got them on ebay ect and put them to convince/con people Checked the log book, no mention there either, maybe because it's an import.....I've really got my doubts now....maybe Jay, Gambit ect would know for sure...I'm searching the net for info

Can a faulty stat cause water/coolant loss
He did and went from blue to green so h/g's buggered
-
This might sound crazy
Yea I know what you mean, I'm not bothered about top speed, never have
-
This might sound crazy
Ok, I kind of said that to him, not like that though, they cause turbo and throttle lag though and seemingly no good for low down grunt/torque....mine's coming off anyway
-
This might sound crazy
But was told the front I/c might have helped cause the h/g as the rads not getting the air passed it properly, and maybe a faulty stat didn't help either though....so it's coming off!...they look kind of good but so what, it's the first and last I'll have
-
Can a faulty stat cause water/coolant loss
It's a mate's car (98 Saab turbo)....I said no, but could blow the h/g if overheated (if not already gone, which I thinks what's wrong).....it's the coolant in the exp tank, keeps dropping

Sell it, break it, fix it
Lol ....I'm one of the skinny bstards, strongish but !Removed! skinny, I'll give it a try though :)

I'm in south Glasgow

Sell it, break it, fix it
I know I forgot to add on the head skimming, that's another 50odd....call it about 400ish that'smore doing it (honestly don't know if I could).....I forgot that the engineers want the valves out, so I'd need to buy the tool to do it.....I might be 450ish.....it's now not looking cheap doing it myself
-
Sell it, break it, fix it
I know, but i'd also need to hire a hoist, I'd probably get it for a week as it's 30 a day or 60 a week, that's me up at 300.....or 700ish to get the mobile mechanic I use to do it. And I suppose if I was to take out and to him and supplying the gaskets, it'd still probably be about 700 adding his labour on....so it's 6 and half a dozen I think If I do this I'll have a better chance to sell for decent money
