impreza coolant and water questions
Did they do them all including cam belts does it say or just the Steering and aircon belts. I've seen cars people have bought private saying it's been done to find all they did was swap the two front belts over when we looked through the paperwork, and looked behind the covers they was worn. Not trying to scare you or anything just worth double checking with it being a new car and once scare proteninally over :D might as well do it all and get it out the way I can see you are wanting to do your best for the car too :) But it shouldn't have been frayed that would worry me a little on how well they was all fitted if its been done.

impreza coolant and water questions
I shouldn't worry too much about the squeak I'd maybe say aircon pump, or the belts when was they done/changed ? Their a bit more important :) With only a few bubbles I'd agree with it being more blocked up or cracked rad than HG now. :)

impreza coolant and water questions
I just read your OP again there is markers on the tank you have to get right down and you will see two more prominent parts that stick out on the inside. Not easy to see at all but are there oversley bottom is low and top is high/full. As Tlag pointed out it's easy enough to drain down and fill up it's just making sure you have all the air out is more of a pain. And I would risk giving it a flush through. See how it goes keep some mixed water/antifreeze in the car as you drive and to Bristol just incase.

I wouldn't use radweld others might say otherwise but for me seems to do more harm then good. Just a clean through should see it doing ok I think sniff tests if unsure is the only other way to be fully sure :)

impreza coolant and water questions
It might be just the pressure then from when you have been driving it if you drive it hard it will build up pressure and make it rise a little bit but then when stood over night pressures drops and should go back to normal. I probably have too much in my expansion really to what others have but I don't worry about it too much. not done any damage and if the Head gaskets going to go it will :) regardless of what I have the the expansion tank. Might be worth just giving it a flush through and a refill with fresh stuff. it's not over heating so thats a good sign but doesn't mean it hasn't gone. the bit's of it is worrying still from what I said before, but also could be just deadberry in the system if it's not been cleaned out for awhile.

Thats not a good thing mate the metal one I always have is filled to just below the cap level. the plastic one I have about half full but it's just an expansion. Now you either have a leak or could be worse headgasket failure :( Have you seen any visible signs of coolant. Is it struggling to start in the morning at all ? the bit's in the water tank could be from head gasket sealer, meaning the person who sold it knew about it, or could just need a clean through with fresh stuff but with what you have said so far I'd say HG mate :(

Nobody should worry about their car on the stand hell mine has a crack on the front bumper and a massive scuff on the back one still. If I go I will try get them sorted but if I don't get chance I will still stand :D As with the club the events will be done the same in the aim everyone is all equal no matter about the car the idea is to meet people enjoy the day and just take part to have a good day. And to answer the other questions Yes it's just one day event No you can't camp on the event. But I'm sure there will be places around you can. BBQ aren't allowed either on the event. Insurance reasons :) But I'm sure most campsites won't mind you having one and a few beers. I know RB and a few are on about meeting up at Castle Combes before the event. So I'm sure it will be the same for this too :)

cat overheat light
Cool :) Yeah it's like an open and shut thing if you like. The door needs to be shut to show it's fine if it's open it thinks it's cold out so gives you a light :) But least it's sorted touch wood :D

what oil do you use
5 liters is all you will need it won't use the full amount but will use most of it. Pour some oil in the new filter before you fit it too then once the filters back on make sure you are on even ground and just keep topping up as you would a normal car while checking the dipstick level. As for which oil I still think you will be fine with 10w-30 but might be worth speaking with Tim or going on Opioils site and getting them to recommend one they have a form you fill in with mods they will recommend one better than I can :)
-
cat overheat light
Might just need to rewire it if they didn't do a very good job. I'd also just disconnect the battery to clear it after 1st
-
what oil do you use
Fully Synthetic in both can't remember now if the blobeye is 10w-30 or 5w-30. and the Bugeye because it's been modded and was recommended 10w-50 One thing you will find with the oil question it gets asked a lot and and will get lot's of others with views on which is the right one :) I just use what I think is best for me if it is right or wrong. :D
