  1. That's a good list. But I'd add a couple of things: Oil separator plate, next to the rear main seal. They can leak copiously. There's updated ones available, it's a known issue of EJ20s of that era. It's probably been looked at already, but strip out the boot, and thoroughly inspect the inner rear wings, particularly where they meet the rear wing outers. This is where the wheel arch rot starts, tired rear light seals can let water in and it stews in the voids. And the rear strut towers of course. Your garage of choice knows their way around these cars better than most, so you should be ok.
  2. Continental All Season Contact are also similar. I had them on my Outback, and currently on my Levorg. With a Subaru, premium all seasons are all the winter tyre you need in this country. The Contis are as good in snow as full winters, and excel in cold wet conditions. I leave mine on all year, they've been great in hot summers too.
  3. UK Turbo 2000s are not as desirable/valuable as JDM STIs, and probably never will be, due to being a watered down version. Still a great car though. Whether it's a good investment at £10k depends on how long you keep it. They're getting rare, rot has killed most of them.

    CVT

The CVT on my Levorg 1.6 turbo is superb. Far better in every way to the old 5 speed auto. A lot of people seem to dismiss it out of hand, without ever driving one, assuming it acts like a Yaris or something. I've owned every type of Subaru gearbox, 5 and 6 speed manual, 4 and 5 speed autos, and imo the CVT is best of the lot. Having said that, it doesn't work as well on a non-turbo car - the Levorg has max torque from 1800 rpm so doesn't need to rev as high when accelerating unlike the XV and Outback.
  5. Go to partsouq.com, enter your vin, and you'll get the entire parts catalogue for your particular car, with exploded view diagrams and part numbers.
  6. No problems or complaints here, I tow a car trailer or caravan with my Levorg (TR580 CVT) - it's a very good auto box, great for towing as it's never in the wrong gear. Tales of failures are overblown, many Outbacks and Foresters with CVTs have done over 200,000 miles with no issues. Despite what Subaru might say, they do need fluid changes at 30k miles, especially when towing.
  7. I have a '17 Levorg 1.6 GT, it's my seventh Subaru. It's a very good car, very well put together and great to drive. Enjoy!
  8. Try https://springcoil.co.uk The springs for my '06 Forester with non-SLS KYBs came from them. Also https://pedders.co.uk they have a variety of springs for Foresters.
  9. I think a good all season tyre is all you need with a Subaru in UK winters. I currently have Continental All Season Contacts on my Levorg, and have used them in the past on my Outback 3.0R also. Very good grip in the cold and wet, and not much different to full winters in the sort of snow we get here.
  10. I had similar poor wet performance on Geolandars on my Outback, and changed to Continental All Season Contacts. Massive improvement in wet performance, and as good as a full winter in snow. I now have them on my Levorg, on 17" wheels, in 225/50 size. Ride much improved over the 18" STI wheels it came with, and terrific wet grip. They wear well too.
  11. Let me know how you get on with the Pedders shocks on the rear, I had 2 sets before I sacked them off and got the Bilsteins - they rattled. Sent them back, got sent another pair, and they rattled too. In the end Pedders refunded me in full. Great service, and I'm perfectly happy with the full set of Pedders I fitted to my Forester 5 years ago. Make sure the garage use the correct atf fluid - either Subaru's own, or Millers SP111. It is important. There's also a filter between the battery and the wing. I ran mine on Continental All Season Contact, great in the snow, cold and wet, and fine in the hot summer. For touch up paint, just go to Car Paint Warehouse in Brislington with your paint code (it's on the VIN plate). They'll sort you out for a fraction of the cost. http://www.uklegacy.com/forums/index.php is a lively forum with lots of good knowledge of this generation Outback.
  12. Late reply I know, but here goes: What's the mileage? My advice for suspension refresh: for the front, replace drop links and arb bushes, plus lower arm rear bushes. While your in there, do the ball joints too. Keep the springs, chuck the rest away. Get new top mounts, spring seats and rubbers, and a pair of Bilstein B4 struts (part number 22-248145). For the rear, chuck the self-levelling shocks and springs, get a pair of Pedders springs (part number 7512), and a pair of Bilstein B4 shocks (part number 19-229584). New drop links and arb bushes, check all the other bushes for wear and replace as necessary. Transmission fluid drain and fill is a good idea as long as you use the proper stuff from Subaru or Millers. Easy diy if you can get under the car. Boot handle goes stiff, keep lubricated with white grease. AWD system is not serviceable, should give no trouble as it's well proven and integral to the design rather than an add on. I'm in Bristol, message me if you need any other help with this.
  13. Previous owner had all the black stuff done. When I got it, it also had the STI bodykit (removed now, not to my taste) and the optional black WRX STI wheels - 18x8.5 with 245/40 tyres. Never liked black wheels, and the extra width and weight did the ride and handling no favours at all, so I got some very lightweight 17x7.5 wheels with 225/50 tyres. Much better ride, no tram lining, and a more nimble feel to the car. Here's how it looked when I picked it up:
  14. That seems to be the standard response on any Levorg thread. For what ever reason (probably total emissions of the Subaru range) they aren't sold in Europe. The next Levorg when it appears later this year will not be sold in the UK at all. There is an Australian market STI, with a detuned engine, and the JDM 300 bhp one. They all have the CVT though, and that's what puts people off. On pretty much every Subaru forum, people will dismiss the Levorg out of hand because of the CVT. If they actually drove one, they might think differently. Same goes for the FB16 engine - dismissed as being underpowered. It's actually a great little motor, even smoother than the EZ30 6, with max torque available from less than 2000rpm. It works so well with the CVT, which is unlike no other I've driven. I think it's a terrific auto box. The numbers don't represent how the car drives. I know full well what a pokey Subaru is like. My Forester XT 2.5 with a remap did a 4.9 sec 0-60. The Levorg will cover the ground on a cross country trip just as rapidly as the Forester or Impreza, in much greater comfort, with better handling, and with an interior that's streets ahead. The 2015> WRX STI has the same platform as the Levorg, a good old fashioned laggy EJ motor, 6 speed manual with DCCD and almost as much luggage space. Not very many people bought those, so I don't know how well an CVT STI Levorg would have sold. The UK Levorg 1.6 is what it is, it was never going to appeal to mainstream buyers, but it's an AWD Subaru tourer with all that brings, it suits me perfectly for what i need it to do, and it's a really good drive. Despite it's looks, It's not supposed to be a WRX wagon, more a replacement for the Gen 4 Legacy 4 cylinder.
  15. There are very few about. I've not seen another one anywhere apart from dealers. According to howmanyleft.co.uk, there's only 538 licenced in total in this country, and they've been on sale since 2015. It's a very good car, and typically Subaru through and through. Mine is a 2017 'facelift' 1.6 with Eyesight and the recalibrated CVT. It's my 7th Subaru in succession, having owned 2 Foresters, 2 Imprezas and 2 Outbacks. There's 3 different versions of the Levorg in the UK - the 2015-2016 DIT 1.6 GT original edition, the 2017 'facelift' DIT 1.6 GT, and the 2018 and on 2-litre naturally aspirated.
  16. I'm lucky enough to have a driveway, so I've been using a C-Tek charger set to supply for my Levorg. The dealer me it could go flat in 3 days so I was forewarned.
