  1. And you have much, much bigger lorries. I always follow the shipping mantra of "might is right" ie small ship always gives way to big ship, for obvious reasons. The same as I said about the seat vid I put up the other day 1.4t XV Vs 900kg Seat Ibiza was never going to be a contest. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. On a lighter note its going to be sunny this afternoon so I'll be cleaning the building site off mine I visited on Thursday Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I always hang back for wagons at roundabouts. I used to drive a 12t combi but that was on a standard licence back when you could. I still get beeped by the people behind who think I should push up the inside though. I had a woman pull out in front if me from a side road so badly I had to stand the scoob on its nose, I blasted the horn at her and she indicated I was a self pleasure. We'll excuse me for driving like a sensible considerate person. I was asked the other day what superpower I would like, I would like the superpower to cause anyone's engine to destroy itself, then when I get cut up and given the bird I can ruin their day, either that or cause all 4 tyres to burst at once or maybe both. 4. This is why I now have an XV, reliability and off road capability. I got the tuner car thing out of my system a few years back but unlike most who have big exhausts etc I did actually race mine so I'm well out if the money pit tuner/race car world Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I had this with the Opel a lot, same reason, bright yellow, noisy big wing etc. Trick is to let them over take them hound them from behind flashing your lights pushing then faster and faster towards the a speed camera you know is there at the last second dive on the brakes, they go sailing through the speed camera you drive through nice and legal. Did this a few times in the past, really winds them up when they get the big double flash. Obviously not much use with mobile cameras. Flashing your lights is the important bit as it keeps their attention behind them so they don't see the camera I know I'm a complete bast@rd[emoji5]️ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Alan's right, not usually good to put cars on credit cards. The loan company would probably extend your loan arrangement to cover the extra bit if you asked them. I know I've been jokingly going do it, do it. But I am aware it's not my money to play with. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Like I said I reckon a sub 1:21 is possible, I've had a 1:21.2 but again a dirty lap, good effort thought Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Ok, I'm going to put my sensible head on. If you want it, and you've got the money or have access to the money and you've got to consider insurance and extra tax costs, then it sounds like the maths as Stants says is done. And you do only live once and you don't want life with regrets. Only issue is you have a really good runner which is reliable, you never really know what you're getting into with a new car. If you've already mentioned it and she's not fended you off she's probably waiting for you to broach the subject. I'm not pushing you to buy, only think about what you want out of life, if an XT is an ambition and you have a chance then it's a no brainier. I always wanted a race car, it nearly broke me, every penny I had went on that car but I have no regrets, would I have regrets no if I sent of built it? Weigh up the pros and cons and then if you still can't see any good reason not to buy it discuss it with her. Sounds like she getting ready for you to raise it anyway. The universe has been around for 13billion years ish, and will be around for at least that again, you're only here for 80 or 90 if you're lucky out of all those. As my dad says, you're a long time dead, a short time alive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Oh it's easy 80% of women's statements mean No, (and that goes up to 95% if you marry them) as does silence and sometimes even yes means no, I usually find that any interested response will either mean yes or is at least on a route to yes with a little persuasion or bribery [emoji2] I managed to turn "do you really need a new camera? It's very expensive" Into "oh, go on then" by the simple application of bribery, "you know that iPad you've always wanted? Well I bought you one" . . . "Can I have that camera?" 10. Yep, if a woman doesn't say no to you buying a new car then it's as good as saying yes. (Hasten to add this also applies to new TVs, motorbikes, IPads etc). Though doesn't apply to a lot of things. I suggested that I might look at an out back next car and my wife just went "No, not happening, don't even start" however "oooh that's lovely" is not a "No" Do it! Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. My Opel race car's number plate was B666AOK and I had a little statue of DEATH from the Terry Pratchett Discworld books on the dashboard, Just because I knew it freaked people out [emoji48] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Do it. Do it, do it, do it! [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I know, driven down this road many times and thought this would be a great road to open the taps. Sadly with today's volumes of traffic you're usually stuck behind a lorry. I was lucky in that if been held up behind a lorry which I overtook and that meant the road in front was empty, taps opening up[emoji2] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Yeah managed to sort that out so vid looks much better now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. That means I'm going to have to get on it later now [emoji23]Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Got a filthy car having been on a site in the mud and rain, got a cleaning job and a half this weekend. Still, popped into Halfords and bought a stock of Maguire's goodies to help with the clean. Wife's taking my car to work tomorrow while hers is in the shop. She's taking my baby [emoji33] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Drove along one of my fave bits of road around here, the A534 between Wrexham and Nantwich, really smooth road and nice set of bends, believe its also a fave of motorcyclists. Anyway here's me having a nice smooth run in my XV. If the picture quality looks a bit poor, click on the watch on youtube option and then set quality to 1080p, should look a lot better
  18. No but I know a perfect lap could be sub 21sec so I'll keep trying, I will get there. My best lap is mere 100ths off your time but Gambit won't put it up
  19. I know, just keeping things on the level Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. No, you always want it hard, sorry hard top Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Just off to take mine up the North West along a very wet and rainy M6. Can see the getting very dirty today. Might need a clean at weekend Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. might have to have a look at these, always used Maguiars and got really great results so always concerned I'll try something new and it'll disappoint and i'll have thrown money down the drain.
  23. Classic stuff that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. You should try the ultimate wax from Maguire's my wife's car is nearly black and you get no swirls, it's really good stuff Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
