  1. stanton is spot on with costs. the turbo, exhaust, injectors, remap will be about £1k. but if you are going to make a heavy car faster, you WILL need better brakes, probably £800+ better brakes, suspension and losing weight will make you faster around the twisties and it will handle better if you want bigger power first, lose weight to make the most of it and give the brake an easier time
  2. that looked good, but I wouldn't stick some on now my last blob had the full forza replica monster graphics on, it looked great and looking back at pictures of it, it was the dog's. but would I put the same graphics on my new blob???? NO
  3. on a slope should be ok, depending what gradient the slope is. get the front end high, and if you can, chock the back wheels and then jack the front up a bit more the hesitation on gear change could be down to the dump valve. try to get a standard recirc valve and see if that makes it better. quick lesson on fueling, the ECU monitors how much air enters the system with the MAF, the ECU adds the correct amount of fuel to that amount of air to give the ideal mix. - once air enters the system it is 'accounted for', so (with a dump valve fitted) on a gear change the air that has been accounted for get's dumped out of the system, then when in gear and back on the power (just for a split second) the mixture is rich, due to the air leaving the system and mixture being wrong I have run scoobies with and without dump valves and I prefer the smoothness of the standard recirc valve
  4. there will be about 10 going from ukscoobies too
  5. done over 200 miles in the Scooby for work, less than 1/4 tank left :( work van has been repaired (new fuel pump) and I picked it up tonight, £486 :(
  6. hi mate welcome to the club any photo's? what model is it?
  7. what a beast :)
  8. hopefully I'll be there, depends how much it costs to get my van fixed :( any chance of a burger van this month?????
  9. why file it down? buy a pair of these instead http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=231243645972&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en and they will remove almost anything, even round bar. they have opposed teeth and you don't have the squeeze like normal grips, the more pressure you apply, the tighter they get
  10. it's not too bad in the van, but **** in the car. on a long run I can get 35mpg, but not with all the traffic lights and stop starts, so low 30's would be fine
  11. hi mate welcome to the club
  12. I'll be doing 100 miles a day, 20 miles through the M1 roadworks at 50MPH and down into Nottingham with the 30mph average speed cameras [emoji34] not many places to have fun
  13. In my blob, I had to take the back seat out and then I could get to the couple of plastic clips that hold the trim/shelf cover on.
  14. I'm off work today after my van decided to break down on the M1 in the roadworks section! Fuel pump has gone. Gonna be another £500+ bill, it cost me £600 for MOT last month [emoji35] Been out for a drive in the Subaru and filled up ready to use it for work for the next few days.
  15. lol, it's like I can read your mind and know what you're going to do next
  16. not sure on the foz, but on the Impreza the gasket between cat and back section is like a donut if it's not a turbo, I don't think it's worth all the hassle doing the decat
  17. ej20 is the code for a 2.0 engine, ej25 is for a 2.5 not sure what turbo is fitted though, if it is the impreza wrx engine it will be the TD04 can you see the turbo to have a look at the ID plate?
  18. that looks great, lovin' the artistic photo's too B) did you get some silver bulbs for the indicators? you can fit them in the back lights too to get rid of the 'fried egg' look ;)
  19. Subaru quoted me £245 per key, providing I had the master key to take a copy from I'd be looking for a full lock set with keys from another car
  20. hi mate welcome to the club
  21. I use 'green' air filters, they are decent price and performance. They always get good reviews too
  22. Hi mate Welcome to the club Don't bother with an engine swap, yes, you will get more bhp, but what about brakes, suspension, arb's, gearbox? If you buy a wrx, it will only cost £1k in mod's to get 340bhp. Or if you want more bhp go for the sti. A remap and exhaust will see 340bhp, or swap turbo, injectors and remap and 450bhp is quite easily achieved
