  1. Hoping to get my sti at the end of the month - just waiting on the transporter arriving at the dealer. Still planning on doing this. Will be meeting in Richmond (not far from the A1) and I'll take the group on a lovely drive up to Tanhill Pub, then over the Buttertubs run, then stop off in Hawes for something to eat before I'll lead everyone back to Leeming Services outside Bedale which is back onto the A1 so people can get back home. Just to mention this now - this route gets quite busy through the summer and with 2 kids in the back of the car I won't be speeding. I just want to enjoy being in a convoy of nice cars, through a beautiful area of countryside on a day where folks can meet and have a natter. I once led the RS club on a Tanhill run due to the guy who organised the day not turning up. I was bullied into putting my foot down wherever possible by club members. It was a knightmare. About 25 cars got lost that day, and I vowed to never be persuaded to do that again. People come from miles away on these days out, so speeding for me is NOT on the agenda.
  2. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaagggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I want my Sti!
  3. I'll be honest guys - I'm going STIR CRAZY waiting. Mines due at the end of the month,
  4. Still planning on sorting this day by the way...........WHEN I have my car.
  5. I haven't actually DONE anything in my Subaru today, as it's sat on a boat floating across to the uk. However, I chose a reg plate that is going onto it today. Does that count?
  6. Getting close now guys. Anyone else on here getting one?
  7. I am OLDSCHOOL in terms of gaming. I'm from the start of the Amstrad 464/Commodore 64 era. God I wish I could jump into a time-machine and go back to those days with my kids, and spend a few days showing them the 1983 era (when I was 8) Games I used to love then on the C64 were ones like Bruce Lee, Super Hunchback, Tapper, International Karate, Daley Thompsons Decathlon, Galaxy.......a few years later on the C64 produced one of the greatest games ever......The Last Ninja. Toy Shops back then were fantastic. I used to collect vintage Starwars stuff, Actionman, and later on He-man and Transformers. What a fantastic time to grow up in.
  8. To be honest guys, the drive up to Tan Hill, followed by the Buttertubs is a lovely drive. Normally after the Tubs comes a drive into Hawes before driving back along some cracking roads to Leyburn heading back to the A1 at Leeming. The meeting point is in Richmond, not far off the A1, in a big Supermarket carpark, where we then set off towards Tanhill by driving up to a place called Reeth. It's the sort of day that doesn't need daft/fast driving as the scenery is so stunning.
  9. Hi guys. I've been a member of the FocusRSOC owners club for 4 years now, and in May I'll be handing over the keys of my latest RS with a heavy heart for the new WRX Sti as it's time for a change. I've been involved over the years with organising a few RS club days, and was wondering what the interest would be among Subaru owners for a Whitby day, and a Buttertubs run day (visiting Tan Hill - the highest pub in Britain) I've always enjoyed the getting together/meeting new owners, followed by a bit of sensible driving, enjoying the North Yorkshire scenery, and making passers-by smile at the convoy of performance cars going by. Would you all support something like this?
  10. About 4 hours using the A1 route......... I wonder if they would deliver it on a low-loader?
  11. This is the best American review......
  12. Got to get from Essex back to North Yorkshire...........gulp.
  13. £28995 for white. Extra £500 for other 3 colours (blue, black and silver)
  14. Any tips for running her in please? Worrying about the journey home when we go and pick it up - as the dealer is hours away from us and the worst running-in you can do to a new engine is sat at constant speed (which will be hard to avoid on the motorway home!) :(
  15. A very big hello guys. I've managed to bag one of these (in WR Blue) - should get it first week of May. I put my deposit down in January. Used to own a Sti Type-UK back in 2005. Had a few different cars since then, currently driving a Mountuned Focus RS mk2 which is going in for the Subaru. Anyone else on here getting one? It's been very frustrating waiting for the UK-spec info to come through. I have spent the last month watching the American test-drives on YouTube. I'm aware of the past engine problems with the 2.5. Just hoping mine won't suffer any meltdowns.
