Window Trim
Anyone shed any light on what holds these bits of trims that go round the rear windows? I want to repaint the rear section but don't fancy snapping them as not sure what holds them on

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
Few bits arrived in the post in the last few days, still got plenty on the list to obtain before doing a major upgrade all in one go :)

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
Washed and waxed mine and decided I want an electric buffing polisher, it's a real choir doing it manually it takes ages especially with a black car as it easily shows up any marks you've missed or if you haven't buffed it in enough! Was mumbling to myself the scene from Karate Kid 'Wax on wax off' I need a beer after spending the afternoon getting it clean the black car curse means it will probably rain and all ym efforts will be wasted in a matter of hours

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
Bagged a two week old vf35 for a great price today can't wait for it to arrive! Also got ported headers, a de-cat up-pipe and tgv delete sti red inlet on the way too.

Enjoy if you need and pointers give me or Stants a shout as I think I remember you saying you bought the same gauges as mine :)

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
Purchased a tgv delete inlet and ported headers with de-cat up-pipe and spent £100 on 6 litres of engine oil and 10 litres of coolant! Awaiting a reply on vf35 turbo too fingers crossed :) Psshhhhh

Choosing a new exhaust give your experiences and preferences.
Been looking at new exhaust systems for my blob wrx and just seeing what you guys have experience with and any to really avoid my ideal spec is more based around performance gains than noise as I would like to be able to go for track sessions without breaking the sound limits they enforce. I did see a second hand Blitz Nur spec R at a fair price but fear it will be too loud although it does sound lovely so it is tempting! I seem to be leaning towards something more like one of the Milltek sport cat back systems though - resonated or non-resonated? Also seen the full japspeed decat systems with downpipe but heard the quality and fitting isn't so great after being warned about various other japspeed parts not fitting well feeling like I should avoid them?

Spacers
Yeah jay they are the proper hub centric ones that sit on the hub rather than putting the weight on the bolts, those blue ones I posted look like some nasty ebay rubbish not even fitted with the right nuts

Japfest Silverstone 24th April 2016
For the track time does the club have it's own time slot so we would all be together on the track or is it just book your slot and mingle in with the rest of the people on track?

What coolant do you all use it's time to change it.
opie oils techy recommended the Motul Inugel Optimal over the Fuchs Fricofin, they said it's a best quality one to go for with the impreza so gone for that in the end thanks for all the suggestions guys! :) http://www.opieoils.co.uk/showproduct.aspx?ProductID=903&SEName=motul-inugel-optimal-ready-to-use-cooling-liquid-anti-corrosion-and-anti-freeze&

Ahh right so with the fiddly part of the interior wiring mostly done then that's definitely shaved a few hours off! :) The only thing I don't have is ptfe thread tape I think. Got ring connectors and male/female connectors, plenty of wire, all usual tools, soldering iron etc. Going to order new coolant too as assume it will spill out when putting the water temp adapter in and it needs doing anyway.

Spacers
Prime example of using cheap non-centric spacers so just be careful if you do use spacers to check them regually or pay the price and get some good quality ones from a well established brand

It is quite time consuming to try do a nice job of the wiring I agree! I haven't permanently connected anything yet just made sure they work. Received a new oil press sensor today in the post as a replacement for the broken one in the box which they did at no extra cost which was good! I sent the wiring from the pillar gauges to the clock behind the speedo gauge cluster to keep everything in the same place. For the sensor wires when feeding them out to the engine bay separately along with the turbo vacuum but unsure where to send them from the clock. I have to work till 3pm a week on sat so that's more than likely a no go unless 3 hours of day light is enough? I have the that sunday free though. Glad you got yourself a clutch sorted! Who's fitting it?

Pristine Alloy Wheels Milton Keynes
if it needed welding/repairing along with painting then nothing wrong with the price there for the size of it

Here's a few pics of my progress with the five gauge install, half way there all the sensors need wiring up.

Spacers
In a similar boat if I put a set of brembo's on with my current alloys will need at the minimum 6mm spacers to clear them, depending on the type of spacers some are a lot less likely to cause issues or dangers. Buy a well designed and quality hub centric spacer and you shouldn't need worry, it's those cheap nasty universal ones which cause issues I used to get them coming into the garage I worked at on some tyre jobs and those universal things are extremely nasty - unbalances the wheel and puts the weight of the car on the nuts and studs which is ill advised. Eibach do hub centric sets I'd advise something similar to this design. Not cheap but I wouldn't want to use anything cheap or nasty when pulling at speeds when it comes to wheel fitment.

Made a little more progress with the gauge install this evening, most of the interior wiring is in place now after fiddling in the dark with my torch and made sure the gauges lit up. :) After sending the oil press gauge back the first time for having scratches on the face this one had a broken sensor in the box so grrrr... waiting to hear back from the supplier if they will just replace the sensor if I send the broken one back to them third time lucky!?

Subaru safety recall
This is odd I had my 55 plate blob air-bag recall done early on in January, I got the letter through the door then a week or so later rang my nearest dealer and was booked in straight away at my own convenience for a few days after I rang and all was done within a few hours car was ready to pick up no hassle or waiting lists to be put in.

haha I got soft spot for the retro games I grew up with nothing beats a bit of streets of rage and metal slug I don't mind wiring and soldering at all but when you have to start pulling your engine bay apart to get wire looms in I'm not so confident as haven't got much experience with that.

They are 9.5j wide 18"s sat on 225/45/18's they stick out past the arch ever so slightly but barely noticeable a lot of patience and an afternoon is required for the speedo gauge colour change and lots of cotton buds and some nail glue remover or acetone!

Project Blobeye
Yeah I got them thanks very much bud!

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
I took a trip to the Squires Jap meet last night which was a good turn out, lots of evo's, lancers and supras and the odd r34 and a few other nice little gems and an army of Honda's best lawn mowers! Then woke up to a snow storm in the morning so took my car out and got it filthy scooby style Spent 2 hours washing and polishing it yesterday too for the meet and it looks worse than before I cleaned it since having fun in the snow
