The late 05 blob eyes which I have come with the same centre console as the hawks which contain smd LED's in the heater controls which means you either need to be very good with a very small tip soldering iron or take it to a business that handles smd boards that would be willing to change the led's for you, the only conventional LED's you can change with the t5's is the cigarette lighter and clock although I didn't bother with the clock as I removed it for a gauge installation. The centre console kits sold that you will mostly find which contain t5 LED's are for the bugeye and blobeye 03-04 only

I am also on admiral @650 fully comp and third party to drive anything else 3rd party as long as the car is insured which is handy. Two years no claims and get an additional no claims year every 10 months instead of 12 which is nice.

I personally chose the Piper cross as it's non-oil, can be cleaned and has life time warranty :)

Always nice to give inspiration to others haha, I've seen some go as far as hydro dipping the washer bottle and coolant over flow bottle which becomes expensive if youw ant to get really fancy
-
Hey buddy thanks yeah I always found the washer bottle an eye sore - mine looked stained on the inside and sorry for itself before too. I sanded all the rough bits on it down not to perfection but just to give a nice surface for a tin of black paint to stick to, quite an easy job :) I think I've only had to top it up once in two years it didn't bother me that I have to take the cap off to see the level now.

So I'm back! Last time Stants was kind enough to help me with the gauge install which went pretty smoothly apart from me misplacing the odd part and it being right under my nose totally forgot to upload some pictures and just today took the time out to adjust the wiring harness to accept the V9 STI sweeping Gauge cluster pretty straight forward with a wiring pdf that I found on google as above in the pics. Also just ordered a Mishimoto Radiator, Alloy Header Tank and a full silicone hose kit which I have a fresh oil and coolant waiting for :)

I showed the seller the pictures and he's kindly given me a full refund and said I could keep the intercooler and see if it's repairable hoping the pipe isn't leaking anyuwhere so will have to get it pressure tested while he is going to try get compensation back off of yodel.
-
So this arrived today in the post (before sent picture and after I received it picture) left a suggestion before the seller arranged a courier that paisley freight and parcel2go are good couriers and well priced but he chose yodel in the end with their great reputation on google reviews and on the bbc's 'don't get done get dom' and the intercooler arrived like this! :( It was packed in bubble wrap and cardboard so yodel must have been using it like a bouncy ball off of walls and falls pretty disgusted at this and a pain in the a***! Not my luck with postal services this week as another parcel has gone missing 300 miles away in scotland which should have been delivered to me... Don't know whether this can be repaired?
-
Managed to resolve an issue with £300 worth of parts I bought that went missing and turns out they were delivered to someone 300miles away in scotland who signed for them... luckily they were managed to be contacted and are sending the parts back to the sender who in turn is sending them to me along with a freebie for the ***** up! :) Purchased an sti tmic today also as part of my project that I will start in a few months time I hope, not many pieces left to collect now! :)

Hawkeye WRX upgrades...
Hudson replied to Haarrrllll's topic in Subaru Engines, Exhausts and modifications
if you want more intake induction noise you can use the standard air box and put in an inexpensive silencer delete elbow or diy the original elbow silencer snorkel which is easy enough and you might notice a slight increase in turbo spool up and more intake noise. I definitely wouldn't spend £200-300 on a short ram induction kit you will see no gains as mentioned above much better spent on a good exhaust system. As with fmic not worth doing this upgrade either unless you plan on pushing past 400bhp which is not recommended on wrx standard gearbox & engine internals. The standard wrx tmic is more than capable of handling up to 350bhp without any problems, the sti tmic is overkill unless your spending a lot on upgrades. -
Got the gauge setup all plumbed in to the engine bay yesterday with the much appreciated help of stants :) Realized a silicone set of pipes will make working on the car less hassle - that stock plastic intercooler y-pipe is the worst! Would never have got that off on my own would have ended up throwing my tools out the pram. Only gauge we didn't get a reading off is the water temp - going to fault find that when I get chance this week assume the it is most likely a dud sender sensor but will check it's not the gauge either. Got boost, oil pressure, oil temp and voltage all working as they should though which is pleasing and tidied all the wiring up to keep it as neat as possible.

Considering a new stereo
Hudson replied to Phil3822's topic in Subaru Audio / Electronics / Security
I have a double din pioneer sph da120 that I bought for my preza and I couldn't have asked for anything better! Sound quality is fantastic and the stereo itself is very easy to use and has apple car play/adroid compatability, comes with kit for using satnav on it, bluetooth, intructions on steering wheel controls etc. also I believe. Not cheap very much worth it for me. -
Will have to wait and see will post a pic up once it's on
