  1. From the album: New 2015 Subaru WRX STI

Last 2 to be collected from Subaru Cambridge
  2. 23 days countdown has just turned into a 4 day countdown!!! It's in the country and arrived at the dealership today. It's ready for collection on Friday.... God I'm a mess now lol. Anyone rate the paint protection and seat protection from Subaru? Phil
  3. Funny you should say that, was going to ask if it was any of you guys I've spotted, firstly Blue one on A45 heading towards A14 at Thrapston, Northamptonshire a few months back, and then a white one couple of weeks ago on A605 coming away from Peterborough. You probably wouldn't have seen me but I was the BMW driver spastically waving at you and then thinking "How would they know why I'm waving" lol. 25 days left on countdown :)
  4. Yep, properly jealous... 29 days for mine. Looks tidy. Phil
  5. Arrrgghhh.... Proper Jealous! I've still got 33 days to wait for mine (honestly not counting!!). Have fun matey and enjoy. Now won't that little boat from Japan hurry up!
  6. My old man lives in Spain and managed to reverse into a concrete post with the off side rear door open causing it to bend the outer skin and dent. He's coming back to the UK in November and I've said I'll have a look for a rear door for him. (It would be counted as near side in Spain as it's LHD). The car is a 2007 Forester XT (230bhp one) and the car is the red (burgundy) colour, although can be resprayed it not the right colour. Anyone know of anyone breaking one or a place to get old spares? Any help or pointers appreciated, he's driving home so can collect most places in the south of England as I live in Northamptonshire. Cheers, Phil
  7. Oww nice, it actually meets her other request... "can the seat cover have flowers on it", I laughed and said "No". Seems I am the ogre :D
  8. Good plan, she loves sewing and knitting. :) (Not sure knitted rear seat covers go with the scooby style) May just be case of buying some material then if they are scary expensive from the dealer, already bankrupting myself getting the car lol. Phil
  9. Gonna have a word with the dealer, I expect a silly priced response. They do look pretty close on dimensions but there is definately a difference in patterns so won't be identical seats. Just hope they are still the same width as would mean sourcing would be alot cheaper. 2015: http://image.superstreetonline.com/f/features/1402_2015_subaru_wrx_sti_flash_drives/68542068/2015-subaru-wrx-sti-rear-seats.jpg 2011: http://images.newcars.com/images/car-pictures/original/2011-Subaru-Impreza-WRX-STi-Coupe-Hatchback-Base-4dr-All-wheel-Drive-Hatchback-Interior-Back-Seats.png Cheers, Phil
  10. Anyone know where I can get some reasonably priced rear seat covers, always had leather seats in my company cars and daughter knows how much I love my cars and the 2015 WRX STI is coming with alcantara/leather mix. In her words "I don't want to get shouted at for spilling something" so she wants some leather seat covers. Appears I'm some sort of ogre lol Any help appreciated, guess new model popularity in US with WRX/WRX STI having same interior will mean I'll be looking to get some from a US source, if any UK sources you know about would be handy. Cheers, Phil
  11. I'm looking at the 2015 model as mines on it's way for October delivery, where the WRX is the 2ltr (268bhp) this isn't coming to the UK but the WRX STI is the 2.5ltr everywhere I believe and this is the model coming to the UK. Was just wondering on the difference as the car spec engine spec is the same in both locations just a difference in 9bhp is actually listed. There is such mixed information still as so many UK reviews incorrectly say 305BHP, but I think most of these are just taking review information from elsewhere rather than looking at the actual Subaru literature (which is really very limited).
  12. Been doing a lot of looking at reviews of the WRX STI and it seems they vary from US/JDM/UK in power output, in the UK they are listed as 296bhp and in the US/JDM they are 305bhp or 300bhp. Is it just how they convert their BHP from 300PS in each country or is there actually a different ECU map or fuel RON level which affects how much power it develops. Did a search on the forum but couldn't see anything out about the power from the EJ257 and thought someone here probably knows.
  13. That's not fair! I shall stamp my feet and cry now, just make sure you get some matts as it seems fellow members are having dealers want extra for them.
  14. Welcome Dev, i'm waiting for mine and pestering Cambridge Subaru constantly for some more information than "Mid October". I did think the same thing about Impreza forum as Subaru now say the WRX STI is completely it's own model. I'm told mine is #248 of 250. Time does indeed stand still, I'm trying not to count the days... well 83 days actually!
  15. Welcome, glad to see another new model owner.
  16. Hoping no more than 250 to help our resale value. Mine will stay for 3 years max. Welcome to the club
  17. Welcome to the club, hope you enjoy the new car. Only thing I would say is although Cat D are usually no problem as it just means the car was in the insurance eyes more expensive to repair than writeoff, often this can be cosmetic and just brand new Subaru parts are too expensive so someone did it themselves sourcing older wings and such. The only problem comes on reselling as people don't know what happens and it kills the resale value, I had a motorbike that due to Cat D I wasn't aware of lost half of it's value when trying to sell it just because of that. Good luck with it, if you are keeping the car and not worried about resale then Cat D are 99% of the time no problems. Phil
  18. I am now worried i wont be getting matts lol, good to see another member getting a new WRX STI. Your abit far away but Cambridge have a demo one.
  19. thanks Hulkster, really good feedback and much appreciated. I will be using mine for company use so it's going to end up high mileage but I'm taking the risk and the MPG you say is good to hear as I need to make 24MPG on work trips. I did some tests with the demo car I had for a few hours and all seemed good as you advise I used "I" rather than "S#", didn't do any mpg tests in "S" but from a Subaru powerpoint I saw that the "I" setting only allows 50% boost so drops about 40-50bhp which will basically be like an economy mode (so I saw, think there is a youtube video of someone testing) More information about the C.DIFF would be good from the dealer as nice to know when different settings should be used. Thanks for the link Pete that's really handy thanks. Interested to know from your manual what the service internals are as some say 6K miles some say 10K miles, but whatever it comes out it's too late now as they have my deposit lol. Hope I made the right choice as it was between this and a focus ST mountune MP275, which would have been far more sensible and had a much nicer interior but nowhere near as fun. So the waiting now commences for me.
  20. Well just thought I'd join up and say hello, I'm Phil, I'm 34 and I am sitting waiting for my 2015 WRX STI in WR Blue to arrive in the UK in October. Always promised myself I'd have a Scooby since I left school and as I'm got a company BMW, a Toyota Celica GT-Four and a Beach Buggy and my partner has just moved in I apparently have to get rid of some cars so the BMW and the GT-Four are going and I need something in the middle for business and fun, hence the deposit is down on #248 of 250 coming to the UK arriving in October (no idea if that's the full run) Now panicking it's going to cost me way more than I budgeted but as the company is giving me half the money I thought "What the hell!". So you'll see me lurking around here anxious for the cars arrival picking up anything anyone can tell me about the new car I haven't seen in all the youtube videos and test drives. All the best, Phil P.S. If anyone is near Cambridge and wants to try one the nice salesman at Subaru Cambridge will chuck you the keys and let you borrow their demo car which is for sale.
  21. Hi, I was wondering how your new WRX STI is treating you. I put my deposit down for the 3rd last one coming to the UK in October, so I now too am going stir crazy waiting to get more and more details out about it. This October shipment will be up to number 250 (mines #248) so will have to see if more come to the UK or these are the last. Phil
