  1. Mr B thank you for that. I appreciate all your help and advice. I'll go for the belt and pump and have the mechanic check out the condition of the tensioners/idlers. Do we get any discount with icp?
  2. I agree the pump should be done as well. It will get done. I found this kit on eBay. Any good? http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=280845361509&alt=web
  3. Belt was 83.90 tensioner was 121.12. Can't find any paperwork on water pump and it's quite extensive. Possibly never changed unless I missed it. Total cost of that service was £618. Previous belt was changed at 58k
  4. Tensioner isn't named on invoice it just says "cambelt tensioner late" 1 @ £121.12The company used are called Subaru 4 you located in Newbury Berks.
  5. Ok cambelt and tensioner was done at 119712 miles. My issue is that was done in June 2008...6 years ago. Belt has 40000 miles on it but the age is really off putting.
  6. I'll double check the paperwork as have fsh. ill check when the pump tensioners were done. Car has 158k miles now. I'd never cheap out on the belt as its like a main artery of the car. I'm just looking for best options and advice on my budget. :)
  7. I only intend to do sports cat, cat back, panel filter, remap and possibly fuel pump. Someone told me all the pulleys and tensioners are good for 200k miles?
  8. Cambelt is due a change as it was done quite a few years ago before I bought the car. I'm looking for a push in the right direction. I was advised to get the cosworth Kevlar belt but I don't have the funds for a little while. Now am I better and safer to just buy the £40 Dayco belt and get the Kevlar next time? Surely I'm better to at least have new than run the risk of a snapped belt. Oil service is to be done at the same time.
  9. I get the exact same and I haven't even started it yet just throwing ideas around.
  10. Yeah they're really nice. Where'd you get them???
  11. Nice. You going to replace with oe?
  12. Watching that boost gauge was mesmerizing. You got some nice roads up north.
  13. Ok so apparently the app doesn't store videos. They're only temporary. I need to learn this app a bit more. I'll add one tomorrow.
  14. I use an app on my phone for a dash cam. If you're willing to sit through 2 minutes of straight road darkness I'll stick it here but I'm sure you'd rather wait for something jolly.
  15. I was thinking about taking the bonnet off and going air cooled.
  16. Yes, I can whip them off and send them or take them locally.
  17. Yeah I'm pretty new to this scene. Thanks for your advice. So I'm not taken for a mug how much should I expect to pay?
  18. I bet they stand out. Where would you recommend I get the paint?
  19. Gotta be done then. Red it is. I've still got the original wheels so maybe I'll give them a swap one day too.
  20. Those calipers look smart. I need to repaint mine. What colour would you recommend on a silver classic?
  21. Could it be arb bushes too?
  22. Ya the rad was changed as it had a pin hole leak and flushed through like you said. I was told it had a small amount of blue coolant in it at some point which I hear is bad for the aluminium.
  23. Hi there. I started out with a classic. With your budget I'd be getting a late blob eye dccd. I prefer the exterior look and it has the lower tax bracket. As far as I know it also shares the same interior as the hawk eye. Just my personal opinion though. I have no experience with the newer age cars. [emoji1] [emoji14] I'm sure someone with a vast knowledge on all the models will be along to help you out. Welcome aboard!
  24. Gambit I heard a mechanic tell someone about **** in the carb they asked how often they need to. Mr B hopefully that's all it is so I've cleaned the overflow and I'll keep an eye on it to see if I get any more of the stuff.
  25. Thanks for your thoughts guys. I will be keeping an eagle eye on all the levels and I'm pretty obcessive with fluid checks before/after a drive.
