Brake light problem
Hi guys. I had a brake light out so I changed it but now the bulb is constantly on. I'm guessing there's a bad earth somewhere so if anyone can help me by telling me where it is I can get cracking. Cheers

Classic impreza turbo coolant amount.
I had a quick search if the forum but couldn't find an answer for this. After finding a hole in my radiator, my new one arrived last night. Now I want to avoid under filling and airlocks so exactly how much coolant does the car take? header tank and overflow Thank you

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
The drop down menu at the top was confusing at first. I just subscribe to most of the threads now and it pops up.

I'd be questioning it myself. Seems almost to good to be true. Could check it for cat c/d

Unfortunately because it's an import my check won't show up what it is. I think if you check the number under the bonnet it will tell you what it is. That's as far as my knowledge goes I'm afraid.

I believe that is an import. I did a quick number plate check.

Correct antifreeze
Mines being changed next Sunday because I found a tiny pin prick hole on my rad [emoji35] Only found it because I see a bit of steam. It was only leaking when the engine was up to 3000/3500 rpm and I was driving steady on the way home. Checked levels and doesn't seem to have dropped levels by much.

Same as Steve. My mechanic refuses anything bar red coolant. He says it's to do with the ally inside the engine. It's all over my head at that point.

My Subaru classic
I didn't have any fresh pictures when I introduced myself to the forum so hear they are. Once the new year kicks in and the celebrations are done I'll be working out my upgrade path. So far with what I've been advised I'll go for a sports cat and cat back ss exhaust. I want to put a better fuel pump on the car but I'm not sure when to do it before map or the day before map. I'll get a better panel filter ready(any recommendations?) And try to book myself in for a remap with Duncan. With my ideas I dont want mega power just a better/smoother delivery. Better economy if possible but not necessary. As for suspension components it does feel pretty solid as now but if the opportunity arises I'll get some coilovers. I don't want it slammed to the floor just make her a little more stable around the bends. don't know of you guys recommend a different size wheel and tyre because I still have original 16" wheels on. With all this I'm open to any ideas your expertise can bring and I'll value any input and advice you can offer.

cost of your mods
My insurance dropped a lot when I hit 21 and again at 25. Went from a 1.2 to a 1.8 hot hatch then to the 2.0 turbo. Always paying roughly the same insurance as I upgraded.

Subtle performance ideas needed.
Not a bad shout. I do like a car that can handle the power. I'd definitely put a top front brace on is there any need for a rear top brace?

Of course Stants. Won't have you I court for false claims like Sony and their killzone case. [emoji1] I think my car is 210 standard and 270 sounds like a nice figure. Eventually I'd like to get a bit more "hard-core" into the nodding scene but for now these mods will make it feel more "Scooby" to me.

cost of your mods
I just insured my impreza turbo 2000. I'm 27 6yrs no claims and it cost £670. The broker told me my premium will not increase if I modify the car reasonably. When I asked him what that meant he just said don't go crazy. I said I'll be doing exhaust remap and possibly intake but these mods won't increase my premium. For anyone interested it was a quote by Keith michesls and the chap is called Gary Moulson.

Nice advice Stants thank you. So far in my head I'm going rcm fuel pump then a cat back as exhaust followed by a remap and I'll get in touch with Duncan. I've just been reading up on his website. I'll let him know my intention and see if he has any suggestions too. I have my00 so ecutek seems to be my best option. What sort of power figured do you think I'll see out of these mods?

Yeah the brakes would've been first. I can't stand the power power power mentality if you can't stop quicker dont get faster quicker. Would you recommend a 255 walbro as I've seen only good things on these? Is it worth changing any induction piping or moving the filter? I live down in Kent just a stone's through away from that God awful car park known as the M25. I'm guessing the remap should be last so it can accomidate all the other upgrades together but what order is best to go?

Hi guys I'm looking to get a few ideas from you guys and I'm calling on your experience. As it's stands my impreza turbo has only had front 4-pots with grooved disc and a very quiet, subtle rear box added. Now I'm in no rush to modify it but I want to add a better exhaust system complimented by a decent induction kit, mapped in by whatever you guys recommend to be a good map/mapper. Money is no issue when it comes to my lovely impreza. Cambelt and full service is on the list first so like I say no rush here. I'm all ears and really appreciate any advice you can offer. I'm not modifying her for the power but some rough guess of gains would be nice and also some prices I might expect to pay. [emoji4] Cheers guys.

New member making some noise
Hi guys. Thanks to all of you for the welcome. Just a quick update on the car. I did a long journey today 270 miles using £50/42 litres of Tesco 99 fuel. Did some quick maths and works out to be just short of 29mpg. How does this sound to everyone? I was (not) doing 70-80mph on the motorways and a little town driving. Imo I'm very happy and impressed by the mpg.
