Remove rear bumper 'scuff guard'????
Does anyone know how to remove a 'scuff guard' on the rear bumper of my Legacy Spec B?? The scuff guard appears to be 'stuck' on but I'm not sure how exactly. I want to remove the guard so I can have the bumper re-sprayed. Cheers all.

Sounds like they're trying to fob you off mate, with a cheap and cheerful remedy. Check if any of the forum members are local to you, and have the knowledge to go and support you for the showdown ?? Just tell the garage you're not prepared to haggle and ask for your money back, no arguments and look for another motor. Go to Citizens Advice and get some free advice, don't wear accept anything less.

Legacy Wheels ideal for winter.
Thanks ScoobyGhost for that explanation and the diagrams. So, the higher the 'offset' number ie 55, the further the centre line of the wheel will be from the face of the hub, (with the risk of the tyre possibly rubbing the inside of the wing),and vice-versa, the lower the offset number ie 48 the nearer the centre of the wheel will be to the hub face (bearing in mind the risk of tyres rubbing suspension legs, inner wing etc)?? Just checking in my 'simple brain' understanding of the situation lol. Then, I imagine the outside radius of the complete wheel inc tyre, would also have to be considered? Ie,going from a 16" wheel with a 215/60/16 tyre, to a 17" wheel, with a 215/45/17 tyre, to keep the same radius, (as an example)??

Could someone explain the 'offset' issue, and potential problems with putting different model Subaru wheels onto other Subaru cars? I have a 2003 gen 3 legacy Outback with 16" alloys, but would like to replace them with some 17" gen 4 alloys, if possible (whether off a gen 4 Legacy or gen 4 Outback). I'm confused guys.

Who's the warranty with? Have a look at the very small print for exclusions etc and get some professional advice before they try and fob you off when you mention a rebuild

Hi and welcome Craig, I'm not a mechanic or an expert, but pretty good all around as DIY mechanic etc. If it was my car,for peace of mind I'd probably take it just get it checked out, especially as you have warranty on the car. It might be nothing, but last thing you need is a sauna while you're sat at traffic lights etc . I've run Subaru's for the last 12 years, although not had an Impreza yet. My cars have all run approx 1/3 to 1/2 on temp gauge even in summer. Update the forum when you've got your answer.

Recent member-hi y'all
Thanks guys for the welcome. Thanks WideSam for letting me know, but i'm not sure if the saloon, rear seat shoulder cushions, will be the same as my estate. If you don't mind checking and letting me know, that would be helpful, maybe a pic if you actually see the car in the flesh? PM me, i'm on whatsapp if it helps.

Need N/S black 'rear seat 'shoulder cushion'-2006 Legacy Spec B
If anyone is breaking a gen 4 legacy with black interior, or knows of anyone please let me know. I need the n/s rear seat 'shoulder cushion', it's where the rear seatbelt exits from at the top. An Outback of same gen would possibly have the same seats etc, but must be black interior. Thanks

Gen 4 Legacy breaking - n/s scuttle panel cover needed
Hi all, Anyone breaking a gen4 Legacy, or can point me in the direction of one?? I need the windscreen, n/s 'scuttle panel' end cover (covers the n/s bonnet hinge from view ), and also the 2 poppers (one each end) which fit through each end of the scuttle panel. Think these items were lost when the car had a new screen, prior to my ownership. Cheers guys.

2006 Legacy 3.0R Spec B exhaust upgrade & re-map??
Hi Tidgy, I emailed Scoobyclinic last week as it happens, re a price for a 60k service on my Spec B, and also enquired about a re-map. The reply I had was 'there isn't a re-map for the 3.0 H6,they are what they are', which to be honest surprised me. As you point out they are on my doorstep, and I have used them previously, for a service on a 2003 3.0 Outback. It was dis-appointing to just be told there isn't a re-map available, not even pointed in the direction of someone who does the re-map on the H6 lump. Maybe it's because I don't have an Impreza, they weren't interested, sad if that is the case though. I've just dropped my car in today for a 60k service anyway at Farmers Subaru Specialist in Matlock, Derbyshire. They quoted £450 inc VAT for the full 60k service, plugs etc etc, which I was happy to pay. Only thing not included was the rear diff oils, which they will check and update me with condition of the oils, and if they need changing it will add another £80 inc VAT etc, so total of £530. Went for a quote last week for a Powerflow stainless steel exhaust from Springbok garage near Chesterfield, an authorised Powerflow dealer, and was quoted approx. £550 inc VAT,for middle CAT back exhaust and choice of tips. Told me it will take a day to complete, and they have already confirmed they can do a re-map for circa £300, with power increase to approx. 280/290bhp,with a 7 day trial & refund, and re-set everything back to original settings if the re-map doesn't work, or if there isn't a power gain or increase in mpg, so all in all sounds pretty good deal to me. I'll be booking the car in for the exhaust first in a couple of weeks, and then probably the re-map. Will update as things progress.

New member, couple of questions!
Howdy Dan, Welcome, i'm a relative newbie also, I only joined a week ago my self. I know a guy who would probably sort you a replacement remote key, not sure about a 'switchblade' type, but I've used him to do a replacement remote key on my 2003 3.0 Outback 2 years ago. He also sorted a key card fob on a Renault (credit card size and pushes into the dash). Renault wanted £250, he came out to my daughters house, took 30 min to do the new fob, and charged £100 for 1 fob (£150) if I'd had 2. Let me know if you need his number, i think he's based around Leeds, but is mobile and goes all over the country anyway. Enjoy the Scoobie :D
