I cat find any decent articles from a uk source like autocar etc. I found one that says the UK is only getting a new 1.6 turbo engine. Japan is getting a 2 litre 295bhp model named the gt-s though.

This looks promising, based on the wrx. It will be interesting to see what engines we get if it is uk bound, hopefully we will get the 2 litre turbo direct injection motor that's in the US wrx

Yea it was good, to be fair in the first race where that little prick got hit by someone it was just a racing incident, 3 cars tried to go round the corner side by side, I gained 2 places for it, but I couldn't be arsed with him bitching about it and taking people out when everyone else in the group races clean. Anyway I should be on the next couple of weekends to try and climb back up the table :)

Yea amazing roads and hardly anyone else on them, I think the car really felt at home on those roads :)

Well I've been on here since January now but haven't posted an intro as I wasn't officially a Subaru owner until today.

So just picked up my wrx sti and took it for a good blast from Carlisle up to hartside then along to barnard castle to get a feel for the car on some real fun roads. I'm really liking the car so far it looks great and only seems to make sense when you start to push it a bit.

I've already got a milltek cat back on it so she sounds great too.

Looking forward to spending a bit more time in the car and getting a few more miles on it to loosen it up before I give it some abuse.

In the past I've had a few golfs and an old bmw 328 coupe, I really liked my mk5 golf gti I had a few year ago but I think I'm gonna like the Subaru even more.

If there's any meets or anything up this neck of the woods let me know I might come along for a run out somewhere. Would be great to get a few scoobs on a blast over hartside.

The 2.5l engine should be fine if it's had the recall ecu flash or a remap think it was to do with them running to lean on high boost/rmp and melting pistons could be wrong.

As for De stickering fairly easy just take your time maybe use a heat source. Then wash cut polish wax after, good as new

Well is a 2.5 properly rebuilt not just as reliable as a 2.0?

No when they changed the tax rules and got shot of the tax disc last year they introduced paying for your in 12 monthly payments by direct debit. It's actually cheaper than buying 2 lots of 6 month but slightly more expensive than buying 12 month outright

Softens the blow a bit now that you can pay for the tax monthly

Just let them race evo's but you make them race your tune and take all the air out of the tyres and put all the braking to the rear ;)

I can't understand how the bands go from £285 to £485 then £500 surely the £485 band should be somewhere more in the middle of the other 2 prices.

Oh wait I misread it the same rule applies to sti's I thought all cars over 255 CO2's were £500 but that's not how it worked

Yea just read up on it to make sure a wrx would be either £285 or £485 depending on whether it was registered before or after that date but an sti 2.5 hawkeye is a filthy polluting car :) so it's £500 no matter what
