  1. It's not as expensive as I thought it would be. Cheaper than my 306 gti 6
  2. From all the top fins bent over and flaky paint to this 6 hours of adjusting intercooler fins and a bit of paint
  3. If there's no demand for them then the value will drop
  4. Depends on pipe diameter for front mount if your using drain pipe like you on quater mile cars you will lag but if the gets small out of the intercooler this increase air velocity and reduces lag it really is swings and roundabouts and personal preference
  5. Insurance shouldnt be too bad on a wagon. My p1 is cheaper than my peugeot 206 hdi
  6. Actuall mot law states if it isn't fitted it can't be tested so if main beam has been fully removed it would be classed as a modification
  7. There shouldn't be no problem the floor plan is the same
  8. Sounds about right for a Gb 270 only thing is that the 2.5 litre engine is not as strong as the 2.0 litre STI blue print engine. The 2.5 tends to suffer with loss of compression by turning the bores oval as block is semi closed deck and no forged pistons and some have variable timing problems but they should be sorted by now
  9. Put me on the list please
  10. Yeah wait for a few more members. Car still in bits at moment
  11. Nice to see another fellow P1 owner, I have just joined this week
  12. Spent the afternoon cleaning and painting/stone chipping wheel arches and removing intercooler to paint
  13. Afternoon would be good. Suppose I better put the P1 back together lol
  14. Would be good I'm in Oxfordshire so not too far for me
  15. If you are referring to the post cat o2 sensor you could remove sensor from the exhaust and plug the hole with a bolt and secure the sensor so that it reads the atmosphere. The eml is caused by the second sensor reading the same as the first sensor so the ecu thinks the cat is knackered. This has worked in the past for me when decatting my mates cars. As long as the second sensor is reading different you shouldn't have a problem
  16. On a serious note the reason you use more fuel is that as mentioned cold air is more dense so the engine will run richer (more fuel delivery) to compensate as well as more electrical load heated screen etc as all mentioned above
  17. As I found when overhauling suspension check inner rear arches suspension turret area. I believe all classics will be corrodeing around this area not fallible on mot due to visibility in this area but it's within 3-4 inches of suspension mounting and 8 inches of seat belt mounting. Just finished fabricating and welding new panels in mine.
