  1. Hello

Had two Foresters in the past- UK 02 turbo and 06 xten. Was thinking of going to the continent this summer so bought an Outback 3 of 07 vintage a few months ago.
Interesting to compare the two cars. I loved the Foresters, especially an early experience on an ice packed lane which had two "ordinary cars" totally stuck. I pulled one out but the other turned around and chickened out. Needless to say the Forester completely ignores the ice which had formed a 100 yard slick where run off from a field had frozen on an adverse camber slightly uphill!
Outback has been reasonably well cared for - changed the air and pollen filters - ugh why do they get forgotten?

and the rear diff support bracket- if you have any slack in your transmission please take a look at the bushes there. This is a transmission transformation!

interested in spring and shock changes. It's definitely a bit bouncy.  If I go for the coil overs and ditch the self levelling stuff, is there much effect on the headlight self levelling? Is there anything I can do about that?  What have others done? I do not regularly use the car for heavy loads at night but don't want to dazzle everyone else.. But also don't want lights reaching only 20meters in front because they have got confused!  Any information from people who have done the job most welcome..

Finally Dinitrol seems better than Waxoyl, but pricey. Any thoughts as there is corrosion, not too serious but I want to get a good few years out of the car, it's only done 90,000 and unlike the Forester, I believe the 6 cylinder 3.0 really is reknowned to be good for 150k at least?

Thanks in advance for your information
