  2. other than the sticker on one side i can see no markings on them and just to add to it all , theres no locking nut socket !! this'll teach me to buy in a hurry but my outback died on me anyway i think what i'll do is pop it to local garage get them to have a good look and see what they can find and i'll report back if thats ok, youve been a star so far thank you
  3. had a good look without taking wheel off and cant see any number obvious if it helps the springs have 4 visible loops between top and bootom

  5. have ordered new plug so will drain and have a look at thread once that arrives , many thanks
  6. from top of wheel arch to ground is 70cm
  7. beginning to wonder what i've bought! underneath having a look around noticed the bottom of rear diff had fluid. Put a spanner on the drain plug and it was not tight at all and doesn't really tighten , gets to a point then slackens. IF the thread had been stripped is there a simple fix for this? I'm looking on ebay for new plug but can;t seem to find any , has anyone got any links please? 2005 forester X thanks

  10. HI thanks for all the info and ebay links. I've had a good look underneath and its currently fitted with KYB excel G on the back, cant see a part number. does the SLS just look like a normal shock and spring? as these do I'll take a pic just now and post here thanks
  11. thanks again, will have a look underneath over weekend should i be looking for leaking fluid or anything else? of course it could just be me as ive been driving outbacks fr years !
  12. many thanks , only bought it a week ago its only noticeable when parked on a slope used to have a discovery whcih sat down a bit with air suspension when parked and wondered if these were similar in that they settle down when not driving
  13. on mine you press the button on the key with the ignition still on then remove key get out and lock and the indicators flash 8 times, doors are then alarmed but the internal beams arent

HI I have a 1999 outback and the rear subframe has collapsed at n/s rear so the tyre is now rubbing on inside In the last 12 moths i have had - new rear shocks new drop links new exhaust inc cat new rear discs new top mount rear n/s auto box is sound only other major issue is play in steering rack on n/s open to offers for the complete car, i dont have a driveway or time or skill to dismantle car is in west lothian Scotland and would trailer to take away due to tyre rubbing
  15. HI new here but not new to Subaru's having owned several outbacks. Just changed to a 2005 Forester X 92k on clock and good history Didn't realise they had SLS on rear end and am wondering if mine is on way out . Just feel it look low at back especially when parked on a hill/slope. does it go down when parked ? any tell tale signs i should look for underneath? feels spot on to drive but can't tell if its riding level when on the move ta much
