Hi, I had to get a specialist to remove it as it had seized in. The guy was able to remove it and redo the threads and install the new one. I did the striping out to give access to it which was on the battery side so all that has to come out to get access to it. If you can talk to anyone who can remove seized injectors etc they might be able to do it. Also as noted above you may need to replace the blown 50Amp fuse in the engine bay. Once done never had issue with them since.

Hi The 50 amp Fuse is located in the engine compartment. It is within the engine bay fuse box. It should be a purple colour. Hope that helps.

Outback 4th Gen 2.0 diesel motorway manners
tom30 replied to ShakeyJake's topic in Subaru Outback Club
HI I have a 2011 Diesel Outback and no problems with noise. Was all around Scotland over the summer and it was ok. At one stage I even managed to get fuel consumption of 52MPG. and that was around 70 on motorways -
Replacement of drive belt on 2011 diesel outback
tom30 replied to tom30's topic in Subaru Outback Club
That no problems. I may just ask the local person I use to do any major works to see his thoughts on it. It seems easy if you look at it but if something else needs to be replace I would not tackle it. Not something I want to mess up -
Does anyone know how hard it would be to replace the drive belts. Was thinking of doing it myself if not to hard. Is there anything that should be replaced at the same time, like water pump or tension pully etc. Either that of fire it into local mechanic and let him do it for me. 71K on the clock at the moment.

Within Northern Ireland we don't have any Shell garages any more. So I can only use BP Ultimate. I do find I get more mpg and it runs smoother and punchier. Have to fill up again so I might put in regular diesel and see if any difference. If so I think I may just keep running on the Ultimate.
-
Right throwing this out for any response. Is it worth using the likes of BP Ultimate,( this is all we have over here as we don't have any Shell Garages) both petrol and diesel. I have been using it in my diesel outback and have notice a bit of difference. Was wondering what others think. I do feel a better response from engine and more miles than using regular diesel.

Just ended up going to local supplier and got new pads for both front and rear. Started yesterday and got the front complete. Disks are still in fairly good condition but pads were getting low. Replaced the pad carriers with shiny new sliver ones. Will hope to do the back later on this week. Must also clean up the front clapiers and re-spray sliver. Will have to do the same to the back. Also allows to get a look around the suspension to make sure nothing looks out of place and give it a bit of clean as well.
-
Fitted new pads to the front and will be fitting new rear pads and doing oil and filter change. Then a clean inside and out.

that is well worth have a big look at.

To buy a 500GB and then 1 TB sounds a better option. Then would it be better to go new or second hand console
-
Thinking of upgrading from Xbox 360 to Xbox One. Thinking of either getting 500GB or 1TB. Any advice would be good.

Will need to change pads front and rear for my outback. Does alanpriceautos007 do parts for 2011 models. Its a 2.0D. Just wondering.

Well finally got to take some picture. Here is my 2011 2.0D Outback. Thought it best to give her a wash before hand. -
that is so true.

Can you use red rubber grease on the slider pins. Was hoping to do a bit of TLC to brakes just to make sure all is ok

Just on this topic, does anyone know why the battery tray has a connector on it. Is it a senor or something else.
-
Well the glow plug is now out and the new one in. Also had to replace the 50 amp fuse as it was blown. Once that all done reconnected battery let sit for 10 minutes and all back to normal again. Glad to get that done. Just a quick question to throw out there would you consider replacing them again at say 120k just to keep things right or just leave alone.
-
I have had to disconnect the battery to remove glow plugs on my outback. Once all is reconnected all was working again. You will have to reset/ retune your radio and also reactive the one touch window. All that is in your handbook. Also start the engine and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes to relearn things.

And with two ex champs driving it should be a good team. As long as it does not turn out like McLaren this season. -

This is very exciting. Cant wait till see this. Hope they keep it in this colour scheme. Roll on March -
Update to the above hope to get the fourth glow plug replaced within the next few weeks. Did a trial run for striping everything out so that the plug can be removed. All you need is about 1 hour 10mm and 12 spanner and screwdriver and good light. Here is pics to show were glow plugs are. This is the driver's side of the car. Air box and ecu need to come out

Think that will be a job for a weekend very soon. But woke this morning to lots of snow. Outback performed very well.
-
Would it be a good thing to do once a year to take the pins out and re-grease just to make sure all is ok. I used to do this year on my xtrail and it seems to keep things good

As a new owner of an Outback I like the shape I have. Its 2011 model. I have driven the latest model and don't see much difference between the two. Prefer Diesel as I do lots of miles. But I did have a 2005 Impreza sport and loved the look of it. Did not understand why they had to change the shape and style to a hatchback. To be honest I still think that all Outback's look the part no matter what. And still put a big smile on your face when you drive them.
