  1. Out of my 18 previous cars I have spotted only one a few months after I sold it but I often wonder are they still around :)
  2. You'll most likely just get it worse. The usual advice regarding induction kits is: just don't.
  3. A bit steep for 2 small plastics that will be noticeable only on a close look. But its your car/money, bet it'll look good :)
  4. I used the oven. It was easier than I expected. The only problem I had was with removing them inner silver plastics as I painted them black. I managed to break both sides They still fit and sit right but when you look closely you can see that lol
  5. It would be best if that 3 port solenoid was fitted for remap, you could just take it with you and let them fit it. Shouldn't charge you more that half an hour labour. Also, have a look here for some good advice: http://www.racedynamix.co.uk/remap/subaru-remapping/typical-upgrade-path-newage-2-0-wrx/
  6. Up pipe is a must. The cat inside has tendency to break apart and destroy the turbo. You won't need to buy anything, just take it out and pull the guts out and fit it back :) Great cheap mod B) It is doable DIY, if you are handy you could do it in 2-3 hours. You could also remove your 2nd cat from downpipe and leave only one. It will get you thru MOT if thats your concern ;)
  7. Sure :)
  8. Me and my missus will definitely be going. Not sure if 1 or 2 cars tho
  9. And if you get a wagon you can even put a dog in the back ;-) Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  10. I sold my e46 328 coupe to get my scoob about 3 months ago so I can relate to your situation I guess :) I did like my beemer but always wanted another scoob (had a classic a few years back). It does feel like it has slightly worse mpg and I'm pretty sure that it has smaller tank than BMW which also makes you feel you visit petrol stations more often. But to me there is no comparison. Wouldn't even swap for m3 :D Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  11. Love it :) Just like me and my missus :D
  12. On my list too ha. Looking good :)
  13. If you already plan making it faster there is no point getting n/a ;) My first Impreza was classic sports wagon. I did like it. It was just short of 200k miles but the engine was spot on. But after a few months I swapped it for a turbo :)
  14. Flywheel I believe. I do regret it a little bit. I read about RomRider and was going to have a look in to it. Unfortunately Ecutek locked my ECU so can't do it now. But hey, as you said, I won't be doing it often. When I swap the turbo and injectors it will be hopefully my last map tweak :)
  15. Mine had an open source remap by Andy Carr when I bought it. Went to Scoobyclinic to check and it did 238hp with full decat and panel filter. Got clinic to do me an Ecutek remap and they managed to raise it to 250hp but it seems thats the limit of my turbo. Yes, the licence did sting a bit but I had to pay it only once.
  16. Yeah, its hard to compare anything to bike acceleration lol, well, maybe until you drive some 1000hp monster :D But I have just sold mine so no more bike feeling in a near future...
  17. Both of them looking good :) Sport classic wagon was my first Impreza as well, loved it. Nearly 200k miles and all I had to do was replace clutch :)
  18. I have borrowed her car yesterday to get to work and back and it has felt slightly better. Not really "more powerful" just more responsive, turbo seems to spool quicker than on mine so maybe my turbo really is a bit tired... I know with vf35 it will be even worse for lag but at least the "kick" should be a bit better :) To be honest thats what I remember from my old classic I had a few years ago. This one doesn't seem as fast due to me riding a 1000cc bike just recently I guess and it may be hard to get that feeling back now lol
  19. Hers is Japspeed downpipe, 3", brand new. Mine is unknown make, been told it may be 3"-to-2.5" which I am unsure of. I've measured it with a vernier and it seems 3" all the way. Oil is 10w60 mine, 5w30 hers so mine is much thicker. Not sure about her compression or filter change. I had a look at it and it does seems to be clean. Well, my goal is 300hp, I have VF35 and hawk blue injectors to fit and I hope that will help me get very close to my goal. If my td04 really is a main reason of low power then replacing it with vf35 should take me above 300hp. If there is more reasons my car got only 250 after remap then vf35 should just get me much closer to 300hp and I'll be happy either way :)
  20. Last Saturday me and my better half went to Scoobyclinic to have our cars remapped. The results were: her bug 275hp, my blob 250hp. Mods are: bug: decat up pipe (std but gutted), downpipe, 3" toyosports catback blob: decat up pipe (aftermarket), downpipe, 3" toyosports catback, panel filter, Walbro 255, Forge recirc DV As you may have guessed I was slightly dissapointed. Especially as bug is 100k miles engine, mine is 71k and last year had head gaskets done. So the following Monday I was back at the clinic for the leak down test to check engine condition. Results are: Cyl 1 - 6 Cyl 2 - 0 Cyl 3 - 2 Cyl 4 - 4 All I assume are %, am I right? So it doesn't seem to be that bad. They suggested slightly tired turbo but it does have correct boost and afr. I do agree that boost graph is smoother on my gf's bug, could that be the reason of 25hp gap? Oh and other thing is, she was running V-Power, I was on Tesco 99. Could that play a role in the difference? Thanks for any input :)
  21. I have Millers 10w-60 in mine. Thats what previous owner put just before I bought it. Have full decat and panel filter (unsure what make). Got hawk blue injectors and vf35 ready to fit. Just need to organise it properly :) Good luck with yours :)
  22. Mine never drops below 2.5bar - about 36psi on idle and while driving it usually sits around 5-6bar (70-90psi)...
  23. Just got a reply. Apparently I will need them injectors with VF35 so got it booked in for Monday to fit them and new map. Will see how it goes :) Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  24. Already have Walbro 255 so should be ok Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
