ok i put another maf on reset ecu by unplug battery for 30 mins reconnected and car was fine for about 20 mins then problem came back revs up down on tick over and when driving about 2000 revs it jerks then shots of with good power ...cant seem to find problem my son is saying it could be air leak somewhere think he mentioned something about boost im not sure but think hes going to spray something on hoses to check for a leak ........any ideas seems ok cold tickover son is getting me an esl for ecu dont no what the hell that is lol any ideas

welcome to the club im a newbie to ....now i dont no nothing about cars i just drive lol....but i have just changed my brakes over to four pot and are much better.....all the guys on here will put you on the right track i have found the advice very helpful and am continuing to get advice top club

just a question my maf sensor has been clicking for a while i have never really took much notice of it but since adding a front mount intercooler ...... and changing coolant ................about the coolant i added about a litre to much coolant and when driving up motorway steam was coming out of the bonnet i pulled over to see what happend and noticed it came out of the header tank screw top and got air filter wet .........about a litre and half came out.......since this the car idle is not steady it drops low then up to about 950 then down to 200 almost stalls on tick over and also seems to use a lot of fuel

here goes as promised pic of my daily driver .....mmm that didnt work have to get my daughter to upload for me bare with .. its a 1994 import goes like stink im totaly addicted to this car as some of you may no i was not going to keep but how things grow on you ..... its kind of growing into a project now lol...but a happy one ...I have a few issues i need to sort out first ie were to start but im just going to go with the flow and try to enjoy each step along the way ....some of my ideas are 172 or 18" xxr wheels with some arches coilovers front splitter mine is cracked and scratched..... some interior work maybe flocked dash retrim on door cards look tired and dirty in need of freshening up ........but thats nuff waffle for now i will get pics up here soon

i have seen the 18s on same car as mine 10" wide and car looks bad **** lol

im thinking 17" rather than 18" pete and wheel arches will need to be cut about and arches added you can see in my link above and scroll down to the black impreza think the width im going is 10"

im rapidly becoming confused lol.....when i started this post i did state i need educating on this subject and i have opened can of worms i am out of my league on this stuff but with all the knowledge that you guys are giving me is a help but this ecu esl daughterboard and mothership i am finding it a little difficult lol........ on further inspection of the ecu casing i can see it has been removed and opened before i do not want to tamper with it so i have decided i will leave it well alone....I take my hat of to you all for helping me out i no i was throwing some high figures of wanting to get 400 bhp from my 1994 wrx and have learned that i should only pursue 330 maximum so thanx its not that i am going to be constantly using that amount of power ( well not all the time lol ) around the 300-330 bhp i would like to achieve as it is realistic and with the mods i have i am almost there think i need injectors not totaly sure what ones yet ( research needed ) and maybe i think a bigger throttle body and not sure what else is needed so back to drawing board tick of what i have and work out what i need...... while on the subject does anyone have the pipe that deletes the air resinator under the bonnet for sale ?? anyway i will still keep this post going as i dont want to be beaten or give up totaly i want to achieve 330 bhp or as close as i can to 300 bhp once again thanx to you all for your help and advice think my next thing to do is a list of what i have got fitted to the car and what i need to achieve my goal THANK YOU
