I can't remember tbh mate, but I had the car remapped today and it had a bit of a lacklustre map already on it from a company called "flash remapping", it wasnt an awful map, it made 259 but had the map for the throttle pedal altered so that the driveability was bl-oo-dy awful, so I came away with it showing 276 and 40 more torques and driving like a dream :)

Lols 😬

Can she not just view as a guest....

Just remembered what I did next for more noise, after I took the short ram back off, I drilled loads of one inch holes in the bottom part of the standard air filter box...... That didn't work either, messed up the running again so had to buy another air filter box lol
-
Tis an a-r-s-e for sure, I put a short ram on my blob, the sound of the turbo spoolin was just mesmerising, and off the line the car had massively more power that was really short lived like a mini powerband, but... It had a really lumpy idle and just would not rev out, put romraider on it and it was pulling timing all over the place due to running lean , not good ! If it's a top end kit it's supposed to be OK as they are meant to not screw with fueling but I defo think they all should be mapped for tbh

I also read conflicting reports on wether a walbro will muck up your fuelling, some big names say it absolutely will/does and some others say it won't/doesn't, almost seems it's different from car to car

The car was mapped at 69k by the previous owner, and at 100k I have fitted new parts like maf, plugs, panel filter, walbro, front o2 sensor, silicone turbo inlet pipe, wonder if that's thrown off the tune as it was tuned on 70k sensors ? Plus the tune is 30k and 4 years old now, is that even a problem ??, Anyway, just changed oil n filter before the mapping and found the inner cv boot has split and covered everything in grease lol

New Owner of a Subaru Sumo 4WD

My sons sump had rotted out bad on his Kia picanto, I took it off, plated it with stainless, filled with petrol to check for leaks, then painted and replaced. Jus a tip, if your welding anywhere up near the sealing face, put the sump upside down on a strong bit of wood and screw it down tight with every sump bolt hole otherwise there is a fair chance the welding will pull the metal around and distort the sealing face, and don't remove from wood until cold wcome to the forum 😎 -
Does it have a boost gauge fitted ? welcome to the club mate 😎
-
The real problem area from what I can gather is the -15% , that means it's taking 15% fuel out in that area and 15 is the maximum it can remove, so it is maxed out and it could maybe need to take more and can't, the other problem is, why is it needing to try and remove that much fuel, it could be the full tank of fuel and the walbro 255 that I'm not mapped for I suppose as that sent all my trims very negative after I fitted it -6/-8% across the board with the first trim being even lower down to -14 at times, the first one has always been the worst up until now, I've put a few city miles on it today and it's still maxed out at -15
-
This is what I got after a sustained 5 mile run at about 90mph (on a private road) mostly in negative boost, ran fine with no knock, slowed down, did about a minute of normal driving at about 30/40got -5 flkc and -4.20 fbkc pretty much immediately which knocked IAM down to .5 then straight back up to 1, pulled learning view up and saw this, remap booked for Friday so hope it's a mapping issue, anything to check for before I go ??

I think what tidge means (suggestion) is, if not already done, uprate the turbo 😋

New member looking forward to owning a Subaru

Best left alone by the sounds of it mate, one thing I will say is when you test drive the car when it's all up to temp give it a little bit of beans through the gears with quickish gear changes at highish revs as that will highlight any problems with the synchros, had the problem of crunching into gear in 3rd in my blob on a quick gear change and I myself missed 4th just once in my hawk and now that will crunch if I try a quick change at high revs -
So who is going from our club, and how do you go about getting your car/my car up at the club stand or is it full
-
I bought my blob from oop norf, so mine was rusted out too, went to a breakers yard, hack sawed one off and stitched it in, sprayed it and filled with waxoyl

Thinking of going Skoda to Subaru, advise!
Piggysniffer replied to SheffieldMan's topic in New Members Introductions
@PazzaN96 The space in the car is surprising and is basically the Swiss-army-knife of the 4 wheel world... The boot is large enough for a good monthly shop or approximately 2 body bags depending on usage, there's plenty of leg room for the passengers, unless you're in my height bracket of around 6'4" in which case the only way someone is getting behind you is if they are absurdly skinny or have no legs ... LOLS ! 🔫🔪☠⚰ -

If it defo burning rubber/maybe plastic smell I would look at what's in play when your driving then mate, your really gonna be looking at power steering belt or tyres rubbing on something I would have thought, maybe plastic engine undertray loose and getting pushed onto exhaust at speed, if it's defo defo rubber, I would think tyres or power steering belt as a start

05 WRX Only running 7psi Boost
Piggysniffer replied to Continuity's topic in Subaru Engines, Exhausts and modifications
How long have you had the car mate, how long has it been doing this, what did you do to the car prior to this 7psi thing happening, did you put anything new on it like an intake or anything, did you run it low on petrol while boosting, or did you run low octane fuel in it, what fuel do you use btw if your any good with a laptop, buy a vag-com cable and download romraider and all its defs and you can see what your cars up to at all times -

The check engine light will illuminate and the computer will have set the code P0545. No other symptoms will be readily recognizable. Read more at: http://www.obd-codes.com/p0545 Copyright OBD-Codes.com just grabbed that off t'intanet as didn't know if that code could throw you into safe mode or not
