  2. to be honest I need around 3.5mm to leave me 1mm gap from the caliper. I am going to look at swapping wheels I think as i dont fancy running spacers, I think it will affect the handling. I have just put a post in the wheels and tyres section :)
  3. if nobody here is interested what price do you think I should put them up on ebay for? I havnt a clue what they are worth. Also what options are there for 18 inch replacements that fit with brembos? Or should I got for 17's? cheers!
  4. as the title are these wheels worth anything? Or does anybody fancy a swap? I have fitted brembo calipers and these need a 5mm spacer to clear, problem with that is I need to fit longer studs and to save me messing around I would rather just swap the wheels! all tyres have loads on and can remove each 1 and get pictures, but just to put into perspective these are the wheels.
  5. meh wish i read this earlier, was in such a rush I bought a standard one for 65 quid and will be here tomorrow. I had a quick ebay and SS tubular ones where 250+ and I just cant afford to spend that right now really. Next thing I need to do is change the front wheel studs, or change my wheels as they are fouling on the breaks, prodrive P1 and brembos dont match! Thanks for all help guys really appreciated!
  6. hole the size of a 1 pence piece in the bottom of the header, its rusted through :/ Going to look for an after market one now, pref second hand!
  7. just been out and got my hand under with the engine running, I can feel a small blow on tick over coming from around some pipes, I didnt test if I got any extra when revving due to being on my own. I will get the mrs to rev is slightly later for me. This is where the blow was from. Another video of the noise: Think its worth me taking it to someone with ramps? I live on a busy street with no drive, other option is I drive it 6 miles back to work then look at it!

  9. ok thanks will try this tomorrow. apart from 1-2 little runs the car hasnt been run in 10 months, maybe I should of dropped the oil etc before even moving it :( Will post another video tomorrow in the daylight and rev it a little harder so you can hear the noise better, obviously not revs its guts of tho. thanks for your help :)
  10. oh I do have a decat and milltek exhaust system, so its normally loud anyway.
  11. when you say header is that the 2 steel pipes that come underneath? thanks for your replys btw really appreciated! gutted here as if it is serious I will have to just sell up :/
  12. on tickover theres hardly any noise, its when u rev its gets louder, my mate thinks the exhaust is knackered. is there any local people or even companies who are local to doncaster who might come out? I dont fancy traveling miles in it like this.

So I have just gone to bring my car hom from work, its a short 6 mile trip. i pootled along to the shell garage and filled up with v power. then drove steadily home at 30-40mph, came to a small part and accelerated in 3rd a little, maybe upto 50-55mph, not hard though, like slowly through the revs, prob 3k rpm ish maybe 3.5? Then engine started making a big flapping noise, immediatly slowed down, pulled over thinking the worst. couldnt see anything mate reckons it could be exhaust, im thinking engines knackered. I drove home then at 15mph ish in 2nd / 3rd gear and parked up outside. Cant see anything loose or that stands out. any help please i havnt a clue!

Hi guysI have fitted brembo fronts to my wrx uk 300 today.The wheels wont go out without hitting the caliper, so I have bolted on some 5mm spacers that I had, problem now is there is only 5-8mm ish of thread going into the nut.I have 2 options that I can think of:1 remove the disks, hub and buy and fit longer studs.2 fit hubcentric spacers of around 10-15mmIf I go option 2, which I think I rather would as its a lot easier and faster, then where can I get some decent quality 10 12 or 15mm spacers??If I put them on the front, should I put them on the back 2 to keep the wheel width the same if that makes sense?Any help appreciated! Want to get something ordered tomorrow!!
  17. Grrr! I remember why I went away frommodified cars now!! Just ordered brembo front breaks new rear disks and pads for the standard caliper prosport 3 gauge pack with defi mount It is also booked in with richard henry motor sport for a full service of all filters including cambelt change. the day after andrew car will be coming to do a fast road map on it Then I will be booking it in at scooby clinic for a RR session and printout :P

  21. The next thing I need to do is replace these little plates on the rear, that have alot of rust on them. I could make new but bet there cheap as chips to buy or something? What are they called??
  22. Well underneath is looking very decent, apart from the C / U brace that it failed the MOT on, me and a mate set to work removing it. I may fit an aftermarket part in there or just leave it off, unsure yet. I am aware of the insurance complications with this etc and that's why I am undecided what to do. I have driven it with it removed and it doesnt feel any different really, but it will be around 12-15kg lighter! Pics of before with it fitted, during removal and after.
  23. Hi huys I have just today got ym claire, it is the UK300 that claire has advertised on here. Lovely motor and she has done it proud. Not knowing loads about it, at the good price it was I decided to take a gamble on it thinking if it wasnt as described I would break it to get my money back, or just sell on at the same price. It wasnt as described, it was better!! This is what I think the spec is: Milltek exhaust system with decat STI intercooler STI injectors Uprated fuel pump Competition clutch VF34 Turbo Dump valve Silicone induction hose Remap I might have missed a few things, but will update as I remember and find out. I reken its putting out around 270-320bhp, it feels around 300. Plans for now: New break calipers on the front, discs and pads all round, 3 gauge setup in the center console Full service with all oils Cambelt change Good clean and polish I might swap the seats, front and rear for STI as the sun has baked the top of the rear seats causing them to split on the stiches. Some bits I am confident enough to do, things like the cambelt etc I am not. It is in for MOT Monday so I will update after that. Long term aim, fully forged engine, uprated box, 500bhp, track and 1/4 monster :) talking 3 years down the line though.
  24. paid for it and picked it up! tonight I will start a build thread, although I wont be doing loads as its already got most of what I wanted to do, done!
