  1. Yeah Dug could have another issue. 7mpg is a big drop.
  2. Its not a service issue. Mine just had full service done. I reckon its because engine stays cold for longer hence not as efficient as much. Iv also noticed my sti and gx had mpg drop too.
  3. With 33k on the clock I very much doubt timing belt was changed. As it would be changed at 40k.
  4. I dont mind traveling up to 45 miles to a meet as long as its not every day [emoji38]
  5. I have had thermostat changed on my 03 sti as it was overheating. Fixed :)
  6. Hey steve. Im steve too. Welcome to the club. Where you collecting the car from ?
  7. Ask the fella who is that keeps blocking you in that visits his house when hes not in.
  8. In theory it should not throw any errors.
  9. If im not mistaken those other 2 cars are front wheel drive. Im afraid you cant exactly compare them to any subaru car. As to sti if you accelerated above 3,500 rpm you would get pushed into your seat even with stock 265 bhp.
  10. The only rust on my 03 sti is under spoiler and its really bad, needs full boot respray.bit expensive but with 7 coats of paint not surprising. So guys check under spoiler. Very common problem apparently.
  11. I change timing belt kit every 40,000 miles on my sti as the manual recommends it. I go for gates kits they are quality parts at reasonable prices.
  12. Most common sign of head gasket gone is air bubbles in expansion tank. And overheating engine.
  13. I see. That points to the car alarm problem not immobiliser.
  14. Both stopped working at the same time? Very weird
  15. I had same issue. But I was stuck 45 miles away at work. Luckily aa guy bypassed immobilizer to start a car but he said whatever you do dont stop it or yoj wont start it. When I got home I obviously stopped it. Howether I tryied my spare key. And guess what car started as normal. I think key fob is dead. Could be same with yours.
  16. I thought to clarify. Early ipmrezas pre 2000 do not use obd, obd2 or eobd protocols. They may have obd plug but it uses SSM - Subaru Select Monitor Protocol. This has different pinout to obd standards.
  17. Welcome Nick. I got same one :) although mine is staying standard except for prodrive back-box.
  18. Any emergency vehicle that has no lights on must obey road rules including speed limits.
  19. As long as sparcs dont contact with fuel, and you keep it ventilated I would say you should not encounter a problem.
  20. I dont have virgin. I got freeview.
  21. 97 ? Really? My manual and sticker on fuel flap says 98+ its an 03 blob. And on 01 forester fuel flap says premium gasoline only.
  22. You cant disable 4wd system when its mechanical. You can dismantle it tho.
  23. 63000 ? Ha "Direct form Police been some kind of CID car we think but ot been used a lot!" They think?. I know that police cars are run nearly 24/7 so any milage they give you need to double it after all miles counter only increases when vehicle is moving, and they idle em a lot. And that price dont seem that low then.
  24. Have you thought about forester with a turbo ?
  25. Im seen a drop on my forester from 27mpg to about 25 I use tescos 99. Its a petrol btw.
