Unmarked Police Car A19
Speed cameras dont save lives, all they cause is everyone to brake sharply before them and accelerate sharply after them thats all, which sometimes causes traffic jams.

Exhaust Question and Quote?
As long as the car has been remapped no it wont. Note: there is a chance of your car failing an mot tho.

bad mpg :-(
Yeah Dug could have another issue. 7mpg is a big drop.
-
bad mpg :-(
Its not a service issue. Mine just had full service done. I reckon its because engine stays cold for longer hence not as efficient as much. Iv also noticed my sti and gx had mpg drop too.

With 33k on the clock I very much doubt timing belt was changed. As it would be changed at 40k.

newbie seeks tuning advice
If im not mistaken those other 2 cars are front wheel drive. Im afraid you cant exactly compare them to any subaru car. As to sti if you accelerated above 3,500 rpm you would get pushed into your seat even with stock 265 bhp.

Remember to Check Your Arches People! Even on Early Newages
The only rust on my 03 sti is under spoiler and its really bad, needs full boot respray.bit expensive but with 7 coats of paint not surprising. So guys check under spoiler. Very common problem apparently.

Cambelt advice
I change timing belt kit every 40,000 miles on my sti as the manual recommends it. I go for gates kits they are quality parts at reasonable prices.

new impreza owner.... regretably
Most common sign of head gasket gone is air bubbles in expansion tank. And overheating engine.

Help with my wrx sti
I had same issue. But I was stuck 45 miles away at work. Luckily aa guy bypassed immobilizer to start a car but he said whatever you do dont stop it or yoj wont start it. When I got home I obviously stopped it. Howether I tryied my spare key. And guess what car started as normal. I think key fob is dead. Could be same with yours.

I thought to clarify. Early ipmrezas pre 2000 do not use obd, obd2 or eobd protocols. They may have obd plug but it uses SSM - Subaru Select Monitor Protocol. This has different pinout to obd standards.

Back to the flat 4

Any emergency vehicle that has no lights on must obey road rules including speed limits.

Snapped petrol sender bolts
As long as sparcs dont contact with fuel, and you keep it ventilated I would say you should not encounter a problem.
