  2. Lol well like I say I don’t really use it and I’m clueless. I didn’t sound any different lol just a bit lumpy but I think they sound a bit lumpy anyway ?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. 2 years now. Only do around 2000 miles a year. He said it might of been caused by bad fueling but I have never put anything but 99 in. We think the damage was already done when I got it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Hey! Not posted for a while. So I took my car (2004 sti) for a service the weekend just gone, straight away Kev at scoobyclinic came up to me and said “you know that’s running on 3 cylinders don’t you?!” I had no idea it was! Anyway so we did some testing and turns out one of the cylinders is leaking and is now getting a full rebuild and I’m looking at a huge bill [emoji24][emoji17]. So the question for you guys is... do I go down the route of while it’s in bits upgrade certain internal engine parts or? I’m pretty cluesless really. I never imagine I would be in this situation so I am interested to see what you guys think and would do. In the future I can’t see me wanting more than 350hp but you never Know haha anyway any similar experiences, stories or thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Just wondered if anyone has any experience with roof racks with bike racks or anything similar on the impreza? do the strap on ones cause a little damage or? Im not sure if I should risk it or not lol
  6. Don't know if this is a silly question or not but ... what's an open source map? As opposed to a "normal" map? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I asked scoobyclinic when I was there a couple of months ago and he said 5w-30 is too thin for my04 sti Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. The car is currently pretty much standard with the exception of an aftermarket exhaust and a uprated panel filter if that makes a difference Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Going to do an oil change and would https://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-659-10w50-engine-oil.aspx be a good choice of oil for my 04 Impreza sti Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I would say that 5w 30 is too thin Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Where is Andy Forrest? Based? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Cool. Would the walbro 255 fuel pump be a good choice? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. My dad used to have a diesel Peugeot 406 estate (French I know!) which had around 400,000 miles and used to run on cooking oil from Lidl back when it was cheap [emoji23] Could definitely smell it on cold start up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Hi, I know this kind of thing is often talked about. Maybe too often but hey. So with my 04 sti I would like to be somewhere max 340 BHP. I have a couple of things In my head I am going to do to achieve this figure or somewhere close to hopefully. I am looking at de-cat exhaust Uprated fuel pump Up rated panel filter And that's it to be honest so i was wondering if with those done and the engine being healthy do you think I would achieve this figure and if not what would you think I would be looking at. I don't really want to put a big air Intake or have a FMIC or anything that looks different because I want to keep the car looking as standard as possible because that's how I like it. If it was running at that kind of power or close to with those little mods would it be a "reliable runner" or something you would call "highly tuned" and possibly in reliable to a degree haha. Hope that all makes sense [emoji106][emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I think there might be a very small stream at the back of the garden behind the fence but it's a bit over grown so can't really see lol and behind that is fields. I have been away so not sure how it going but I left the traps primed so hopefully I will find something. I may invest in some rat traps. I'm just wondering where they are entering Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Haha my parents have a jack Russel and we have a border terrier cross jack Russel she's only 5 months. I don't think either of them would be any good at mouse catching haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Also got to be careful where I put the traps because of the puppy lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Not sure the dog will approve of a cat haha or I would consider it. Ye I'll keep an eye out. Just wasn't 100% sure what it was. Probably why the "mouse" traps wasn't really working. Think I got lucky with that one Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Ok. Cheers! I reckon they will be under floor! Bought the house off an old guy and in the process of doing it up slowly (I'm a joiner) there is a few holes and what not in the skirts, floor boards. Will deffo check up in the loft though to make sure but I don't think they have made it upstairs and hopefully won't get the chance! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Just wondering really if this is a rat or a mouse? Been trying to catch this guy for 2 weeks now lol. Hopefully he will be the only one! Ps the carpet was there when we bought house and is being changed haha
  21. I did push the pistons what I thought was all the way back. If I took the pads out and pressed the brake pedal the pistons should come out and return all the way in or is that not the case? When I put them in they were very snug but I just thought the calliper would adjust when I started using the brakes. I will take the front pads out again and try and push calliper back in. What's the best way to do this? I have only got the basic tools nothing specialist lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Just driven home from my parents and the back disks were fairly cool and the front one were untouchable and I was driving fairly sedate. It's no more than 4 miles from house to house Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Hi, just put new disks and pads all round on my STI. I just took it round the block and they are currently catching and preventing the car from free rolling. They are not super tight and the car is driveable but you can hear the pads rubbing and like I say it doesn't roll as freely as it did before I changed them. Just wondering if this is common and will sort them selves out or is something wrong? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. What about that studded rubber stuff? It comes in rolls I think? Your gonna have some kind of joints depending on how wide a roll is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Any one know where I can get a boot release cable for a 04 Impreza sti. I have seen a few on eBay but they are all for classic Impreza 2000 reg? Would that cable fit on a 2004 model does anyone know? Cheers 🤙 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
