have a look on youtube ;)
-
where you had the service, did they not pick up on the miss fire?
-
oh yeah, there is that if you only have a 'normal' STi
;)
-
cost about £100 all in
-
I've imported the RED STi push button start from Japanparts.com (extra cost was the usual Import Duty + Post Office Handling Fee)It's a straight swap over to the Black Start Button that comes on the STi 330s Hatch and 2011- cars (Keyless entry)Dead easy to do....Pop out that area of trim, I used a plastic squeegee (that you use to apply vinyl stickers etc) down the side to pop it out.
unplug the connector at the bottom to give you a bit of room to handle the trim.
Ease out the Black push button out by releasing the side clips and the connector plug (also has a fixing clip that will need to be undone)
take it all out
Pop the new one in and push it all the way so it clips back in place
Connect the plug up and the back to it and the bottom white plug that works the electric mirrors. the STi logo will now light up.
Carefully push the trim back in place
Put your foot on the clutch and see the the GREEN start light lite up :)
You can now start your engine. So that's it. I've modded my car... with another bit of expensive plastic all show and no go for the Garage Racer. I do think it weighs less than the black on though.

Thanks, it took a while to develop the nice burble but now it's run in it does sound nice and turns heads as you cruise along! You're right about the power upgrades, they all seem to be in the US - amazing as the fuel they use is 87-93 octane!
Hopefully more options will come up in the UK this year as the car becomes more popular.
It's definitely not short of power but with 40 extra BHP it will be a real super car beater in the wet and on twisty roads. I followed a C63 AMG on a wet twisty A24 the other day and he couldn't pull away even on the straights despite an extra 180 BHP.

Europa (Subaru Sheffield) had their white demo STi in the show room when I popped up the other week for my 6th year service. Looked good as they'd had a carbon roof wrap too. :) It's now sold .
a track day!!! in a new car!!! lol

best to check.
are you pleased with the car though?
I've just paid for another years worth of subaru Proven warranty..... now 6th yr of warranty :)
-
the centre pipe one may be the resonator... what gives it the sound.
is it an offical subaru dealer option then?
a Perrin air filter won't be a dealer option (check warranty?)
if you go decat/sports car.. it wouldn't have thought Subaru would allow that either, so interesting to know how the warranty is effected with that too..
btw.. scoobyclinic link

Foglight Wankers........good description!
Normal fog light bulbs aren`t designed to be used all the time that`s why you see so many FLWs with a bulb out. Serves them right.
It`s also supposed to be an offence to have them on all the time, I actually got stopped by the rozzers who told me this.
I had them on by mistake! :D
I got stopped midnight Christmas 15yrs ago as of next week. In my classic. No other car on the road other than me and the **** copper.
Couldn't do me for speeding as he was too far behind to know my speed. When he did catch me I was doing 30 in a 30zone after coming off a national speed limit road that was 60.
Couldn't do me for drinking as I'm t total.
But did me for fog lights. No points but a fine!
Now it seems everyone with a car pre 2011 uses their fog lights as DRLs.
Only my11 cars have factory fitted DRLs

Well this week I've ordered from japanparts.com a red sti push start button

So in no rush to order one.

I saw a cosworth impreza done in a metallic purple, apart form the color it looked like a good job, only thing occurred to me was it was a Matt finish so cleaning it may be an issue.
I'd consider it for the bonnet as would be a good stone guard.
use special Matt wax's
http://www.angelwax.co.uk/?wpsc_product_category=matte-wax
and detail spray..

the more coats the better, when you come to peel off... gotta get the base colour right too.... for orange you'll be using white.
