  1. To be fair there prob is a spanner in mine somewhere along with the crows foot haha. That's loud mine doesn't sound half as bad as that when it's cranked and once warm sounds ok, i would have posted vid but no idea how to lol
  2. Back on topic Haha. As for oil i don't know without giving the garage who serviced it a bell. I was gonna do soon as will need a drop in at some point. I presume it's 5/30 Thanks for clearing the definitions up i would have been trying to search for knock and slap and going round and round for ever. So what we're saying if it sounds a bit tinny on start up then goes away/quiet it's not so bad, full on chatter all the time i'll be looking at a bottom end re build sooner rather than later. As for start up and warming up/down it's always started with clutch depressed then idle for at least 5 mins maybe more untill the rpm drops to 750ish. And 30 sec to a min cool down even when pottering around off boost more if i've been leathering it
  3. Haha i'm not ashamed at all. I'm a big softie at heart anyway. Can't wait for my daughter to come and join us in the world :-)
  4. I'm going for the winter tyre angle ;-)
  5. Haha i'll prob be booing me eyes out, still at least with the section i won't have to worry about what he bottom half looks like during the birth :-( Cheers mate will pm you later. Got my eyes on a set of speedlines at the mo on the bay so i'm treading carefully so i don't rub her up the wrong way ( they are dirt cheap i just have my reservations on 'some kerbing damage' ) don't think hi love i'm just off to london to buy some non essential wheels would go down too well a week before the birth :-)
  6. Yeah mate, had a nice trip to hospital at half one this morning got in just after 5 due to bad tummy pains all ok though. Booked in for the 3rd c section due to breach and other things so it's all go. Still manage to get half of ikea in the back of the car last week :O
  7. Yeah i'm just pooping myself for the worst. Hasn't used any oil at all since the service : ) so i'm just being paranoid
  8. stants replied to garry's topic in General Subaru Chat
Could always try a local vehicle sign writer if you decide not to tackle it yourself
  9. Cheers, I've googled it and it sounds like slap as opposed to knock. It's always gone away/been alot quieter after 5 mins. Did a 150 mile round trip yesterday and drove perfectly. Now the temp outside is starting to drop it's just taking longer to go away
  10. been looking at a stopper, i take it it will fit the forester ? that and a new pitch stopper to firm things up in the drivetrain pedal feel department
  11. What did he end up doing with it ? I wanted to know what exhaust was on it
  12. I like the speedlines. Gutted gold wouldn't go with the two tone paint job. Seen some more on the bay looked too good to be true and were. Decent pic and said set of wheels. so emailed seller only to get reply, it's only three of them. Who sells three ? Grr
  13. Is yours a uk car miggs ? Looked up what size i needed, results came back as 42mm festoon happy days i thought until i took bulb out. It's a tiny 24mm festoon in front and a small cap bulb in the rear so that p***ed on my bonfire
  14. Yeah i'd have gold ones again. Had a pair of split rim watanabe on my brg mx 5 looked nice but i think the silver would clash. 2nd pic from bottom is exactly what i'm looking at on ebay a the mo
  15. I do like yours mate but i don't think the gold would look right on mine, i have never really liked black wheels unless they are factory option at least then the designers have put some thought into the colour scheme ie c63 amg white/black combo. If the car was all one colour it would make things easier. There used to be a wheel shop website that you could select your car and you could 'place' the rims onto your car so you could see what they looked like, can't find the site now. Been looking some classic 5 spoke impreza wheels on the bay.
  16. Need some insperation. I'd like to change mine from standard but am undecided. Would love some nice multi spoke ones but the two tone body color limits my choices.
  17. Nice, love the front although i've never been keen on the rear wings either on the tommy kira skylines or subarus Almost seem like an after thought. Must be some areo properties or they wouldn't be on. There was a bugeye running round near me a while back with the same weird wing. Got any pics from dead on rear ?
  18. Four on the rear. size 185/75/16c 8ply came to 429.60 fitted
  19. I may come down. Missus is nearing the baby dropping date so she doesn't want me anywhere too far just incase haha. Martin did my belt change and service in july was a nice friendly and knowledigable chap so i'd recomend a visit for anyone up here
  20. Unless google have bought it within the last 12months no, but it wouldn't suprise me. I'm not sure what size limit is but t's a good platform. You can have the app on your phone too so can retrieve stuff on the move. I think it's dropbox.com
  21. Normally called anti rattle clips or shims. Depending on what it looks like. Sometimes can be springs. Maybe worth having a word with your local motor factors. Some places do a kit for just the shims and springs, did you buy oem pads ? Normally come complete with all the clips. Give subaru a ring and see at least if not you may b abl to get a part number
  22. Cheers mate, where abouts is it located ? I've never seen it does it illuminate on start up ? If so may be a bulb out or something
  23. Dropbox is fairly good.
  24. Sounds about right put about 45ltrs in last week and filled it and it wasn't empty so 50 + 10ltr reserve ? Still hasn't answered my original question though! Even took a torch out and shone it into the dash panel to see if i could see an icon haha. I guess it must have as there is no red portion ro the fuel gauge. Maybe i'll try sometime and stick a jerry van in the boot just in case
  25. No, had to go to ikea today and that's stressfull enough without the worry of fuel gauge roulette. 20L took it to back over half full so i suspect my gauge is a little out
