Hello all,

I am 19, soon to turn 20 (on the 21st of April) and I am looking for some insurance on my car (to start on the 21st)

its a 2003 WRX Impreza 2.0 turbo, I desperately need to sort something.

most people just turn me down and evan adrian flux after being a owners club member, buying a dash cam, doing my IAM course has given me a stupid quote of 15 Grand... i mean i do have some very small mods on it but still that just sounds ridiculous

Please can anyone help.

I am willing to pay around 3 grand ish, reward to anyone who can help me find something !!!

Thanks in advance Chris.

Hi,

Thanks for trying us, sorry it seems we were unable to help. Unfortunately our underwriters do have minimum age restrictions to insure high performance vehicles. If you can PM me your details I would be more than happy to take another look into this

Kind regards,

Dan.

I'd give greenlight insurance a ring too. But can always see if dan can help anymore and try steves recommended company too. Just a shame your age will be always what goes against you. I had the same problem I wanted the RS escort but my age well cost I couldn't fo it ended up with a gti a year later. Still never did get the rs lol. So at least you got one [emoji4]

I have one as a very expensive, but very beautiful drive way aurniment. Until the ransom of £6300 (current best quote) is paid to release it from its sorn grasp. Thanks gambit. Will give them a go :)

See also quinn direct. I had them when I started driving. Was only 1.8 Toyota avensis tho.

Be carefull with Quinn i know a year or so ago they were told not to trade in the UK as there were questions about what they were doing.

Things might be ok now but i would check first

Whey well done mate , bit more reasonable that 15k !

Will we be seeing you at the Sheffield meet this month ?

Similar to what I had  to pay at the same age - however that doesnt take into account 20+ years inflation so not a bad deal at all :)

Yea 21 seems to be when it drops a lot, hopefully that's what i have to look forward to next year !

probably doesn't help having mods such as an after market exhaust, spoiler, alloys, Re-Map, strut braces and so on :') but it's sorted for a year, on the road and I am loving it !

Im 21 with with 3 years ncb with a 03 impreza sti and its only £700 for the year with admiral

That's a really good price. I'm 27, 6 years ncb and I pay 650 with Keith Michaels.

Mines on a multi car policy with my brother (he is 18 no nbc and has a mini one) he pays 650 then we both have our parents on as named drivers but they are not allowed to touch the scooby ;) and that seemed to drop it a tonne, doing quotes online for just for me on my own they were coming back at 1200 to 2000, you just need to dig a bit there are always ways to get your insurance down

Plus i have been woth the admiral group for the last 4 years even being a learner and threatening to leave fpr another company seems to drop it a bit as well lol

Yeah admiral wanted 1300 for me alone with no mods. I'm allowed a few mods now with no extra cost. Area does make a huge difference too. I moved about 6 mile and my insurance halved.

My company (Elephant) has basically said I can do any mods on my policy its just a £19.00 fee to add them as an admin fee !

that is one plus.
