I'll give it ago. The garage did unplug it and said it was doing what it's ment todo when unplugged can't remember what it's ment todo. Is it ment to stall the car.

But if it is the maf sensor why is the car working fine without the 02 sensor.

Not to sure about the O2 sensor.

You could try to clean the maf. If it's been used along with a oily air filter it may be too dirty to give a correct reading.

Not sure if garage cleaned maf but they did say my air filter was completely black and changed it. What can I clean the maf with silicone spray ???

Noooo ! You want electrical contact cleaner something that won't leave a residue otherwise it's game over

make sure the all contact cleaner has evaporated and that the element is dry ,refit it and reset the ecu before you fire it back up .

As the elements are very fragile and can break if knocked or burn out if they're wet when current passes through them

Just to clarify when resetting ecu I plug both black and green wires together and then turn on ignition if engine light comes on its reset do I still need to drive the car for at least one minute cus I thought u only drive it if the engine light dosnt come on

Ok so spoke to my garage and they did clean the maf sensor so I've booked it in to be done. He's said that the air comes through to maf tells the ecu how much fuel to chuck in which will be wrong if it's a faulty maf then when it gets to the lamda sensor it basically says hold on this is wrong and the cuts car out. Something along those lines. Dose that sound right

So that's why it works without lambda as it goes into default mode or something.
