Hello. I have recently purchased a blobeye wrx ppp, turns out its a little loud at 5 am when i leave for work. It has a prodrive backbox which sounds nice and isnt that loud to me but my neighbours suck. What would my options for losing some noise be? Cheers

Put a standard back box on? The prodrive is pretty inoffensive compared to many!

Swoggles,

My idea would be to provide the neighbours with those cheap yellow ear defenders, or, get a box of cotton wool for them to share.

As long as it's within the limitations of the law they'll just have to grin and bear it.

But on a more serious note (no pun intended), I would leave it as is, as the exhaust is a part of the PPP system and par for the perfomance of the vehicle.

So what's the point of changing it?

Regards,

Rik

Or get a bung for backbox and that way just remove it when your down the end of the street

I don't think its to bad but you know what people can be like. I like the ear plugs idea though haha i wouldn't imagen a standard back box would be that much quieter? A bung? Would that not be bad for the car?

A standard exhaust is pretty good at silencing the system, I went from standard to prodrive, and the prodrive definitely makes more noise as the missus can now hear me coming ( ;-) )

Shouldn't do any harm besides if you like the way it sounds and it's only to keep the neighbours happy i'd whip it out as soon as I got down the end of the street

Something along the lines of this http://scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=24_52&products_id=1294

Obviously you'll need to find Something that fits your diameter of hole but they are out there

I love the sound, not to loud but awesome on full chat. Its just the cold start where its a bit bassy on high idle. Food for thought, cheers. They should have streets where only car people are allowed!!

You can get full track exhaust systems that are designed to be free flowing but keep noise levels down. Got a cobra system on my car and my old hawk and isn't restrictive at all

I bought my Blob Eye standard and put a Prodrive back box on it. It is louder than the standard one but really not instusive. Anyway my standard pipe is for sale for £25 if you are interested.

I could do with one of those bungs for one of the neighbours kid....wah wah wah first thing every !Removed! morning lol

I dont really want to buy anything at the moment so im going to continue !Removed! the neighbours off :) my shift changes fortnightly so they can have 2 weeks off at a time haha but the bung is a good idea for the future, thank you for your inputs.

They'll soon get used to it. That's when you need a de-res centre section with an afterburner box

I use a bung for everyday use and take it out for meets and shows, makes a big difference....

Are there no negative affects when giving it the beans? Do they have a resonator on them normally?

You still got the exhaust for sale mate?

Yes I have! I'm near Stratford Upon Avon if you are interested. I'd rather you collected due to it's awkward size and shape. Includes the middle pipe with the resonator in.
