Speaker adapters???

Well, I bought a speaker kit off eBay which consisted of two speakers, two adapter brackers and two cable adapters. Cable adapters worked great but the adapter bracket? Not so much....

It's waaaaaaaaaay too big, not even close to aligning with the existing holes which I've heard there are brackets out there that do line up. If the bracket is screwed into the top hole, the bracket goes so far down, it completely blocks the door card from going back on! 

Has anyone had any luck with brackets they have bought which fit directly into the existing holes?? I'd rather avoid drilling as much as possible, next route would be to get my father-in-law to make me up some brackets...

Ok... After contemplating drilling new holes in the door... decided it would be far easier to drill new holes in the adapters and success!!

I had exactly the same problem. But the speakers I've bought were slightly smaller. Thats what I did lol (I'm cheap):

I used a multi fitment (corsa) halfrauds spacer to fit the vibe black air speakers in my classic .

Had to re drill a couple of holes but they work fine

If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊

I actually considered that as well but I needed to use the adapters as they act as spacers as well, otherwise my new speakers would stop the window from going all the way down!
