krazy lil lady Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 I've had my subaru impreza 2.0 gl sport auto for over a month now and noticed the speedo is out about 7 on low speed and 10 on higher speed does anyone have any idea on wot the problem is please
stants Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Has it got stock wheels & tyres on it or are they bigger ? Different size wheels can effect the speedo, All speedometer 's read slightly over by about 5mph
krazy lil lady Posted March 30, 2016 Author Posted March 30, 2016 I've already checked that they have the right wheels and tyres on it for the age of the car it's a p reg 1997
Jay762 Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 as stated all speedos are slightly out - I cannot remember if yours is an electrical pick up or gear and cable feed so could be worn gear or resistance of wiring breaking down slightly
krazy lil lady Posted March 30, 2016 Author Posted March 30, 2016 Ok thanks I think it's gear and cable ill have to get it sorted it's hard work with it not being the same amount out
MJP02 Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Its normal, I drive loads of different cars and use satnav's all read faster then actual gps tracking. some are 3 miles out some are 10. Think its the governments way of tricking us into going slower
Scoobyghost Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Mine is 5mph out at 70. My dash cam measures speed and states I'm doing 65. Also on standard size wheels. I think it's a manufacturer safety cushion.
