Princess lou Lou
Hi all, I'm the proud new owner of an ex-demo '15' reg XV which had only 590 miles on the clock when I collected it. I am VERY happy with the car apart from an annoying dash rattle/ vibration. I bought it from a dealer on the south coast during a recent trip to see family over Easter, but have booked in with a more a local dealership later this week to have the problem investigated. I was just wondering if any other owners have had a similar issue? I've had to call the dealership I'm taking the car back to several times before they booked me in. I 'get it': dash rattles are notoriously difficult to trace/diagnose and, from my research on YouTube, it would seem the shelves of Hobbycraft are better equipped to provide the 'cure' than those of your average dealership. Nonetheless, having paid a not inconsiderable sum for a car that is still well within warranty, I expect excellent customer service and for the problem to be sorted. I've also had a 'bit of a mare' trying to get hold of a space-saver spare, (really don't fancy paying £400+ for a dealership supplied one) but that's for another post. I look forward to chatting to you folks, as I can see from your posts that you're a friendly bunch.

Dug
Hello Princess lou Lou and welcome as dogconker has said these little annoyances can be a real pain to sort out where does it sound like its coming from? the only rattle I have had from my car when I traced it came from where the top speaker grills that are on top of the dash. after driving me nuts for a few weeks I decided to sort it I removed the plastic grills for a day to see if it stopped which it did, so I then bought a tube of clear silicon sealer and applied it to the mounting legs of the trim and pushed them back into place. sorted on more rattles :-) as its silicon I can easily remove it if I need to be in there in the future. Princess lou Lou
Thanks for the replies. I'm pleased to say the issue is now sorted: the dealership identified a loose bracket, added some foam and tightened it. It was service 'above and beyond' as they're no longer Subaru agents and didn't supply the car (Shukers of Ludlow).

Princess lou Lou
It'll have to be the Shrewsbury dealership, I think.
