Have you tried cleaning it with some contact cleaner as they do get bunged up .

The standard classic ones are fine ,do you know if your's is a 2 port or 3 port solinoid ?

Cos if your's is fubar, I think I've got a spare 3 port if you're stuck .

If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊

Well mine is testing open line so I think the coil has gone but I wonted to put a better 1 in or do you think that is pointless thanks

Phill

Mine ran 350hp with the standard 3 port without any issues and the only reason I'm currently running a upgraded one is because it came in the box with the apexi avcr [emoji41]

I'm 90% sure I've got a spare 3 port you can have for £25 posted but they will only plug n play into a scoob that runs a 3 port in its oe spec or if its had a oe 3 port already mapped in . Otherwise the upgrade from 2 port to 3 port needs to be calibrated by a mapper to make it work [emoji6]

I might have a early map sensor kicking about but ....

You'll have to stick a pic up of the map sensor showing the plug ,wire colours and part number . As they changed at v3 late 96 onwards and if you try to fit the later one (which is a common upgrade when getting a remap) it won't work unless you get a mapper to recalibrate it[emoji6]

Right I've found the 3 port and a v3 map sensor (so far )

are you getting a remap and want the v3 map sensor ,which is good for 1.7 bar ?

Or fitting them to a standard map car , in which case you need the earlier v1 & v2 map sensor (in your pic) which maxes at 1.2 bar ?

Could you test the solenoid and see how many ohms it is as im not to sure if it is dead or not now

and i need a v1 or a drop in replacement as im not going into to mapping yet, thanks

Unfortunately I haven't got a multi meter ,so can't check the ohms for you and can't find the early map sensor either . I'm in no rush to sell anything ,as I tend to hoard useful bits of scoob .

I've got 2 spare 3 ports and 2 spare v3 onwards map sensors if you do end up needing one though.

On the plus side I found quite a few bits I forgot I had [emoji15] while searching through my shed load of scooby scraps [emoji23]

What's the issue your trying to resolve, anyways ?

it seems to get a bit lumpy around 4000rpm and then clears up from 5500rpm but if you have been giving it some for a couple of miles the boost pressure seems to drop off and the blow off is not so loud, now i have already changed the o2 sensor and knock sensor and it seems to of helped.

no mods yet and plugs and packs r next on the list as iv only had the car for 1 month now so i don't no what they r like, iv had a look for air leaks cant seem to find any, would it be a good idea to get it smoke tested?

I'd probably start with plugs and visually inspect the coil packs for cracks in the insulation and signs of "arc'ing" from coilpacks to head/cam cover . As they're prone to cracking due to the heat and age .

Thought I'd ask about mods as somtimes even a cone filter can adjust the airflow enough to cause a misfire or flat spot .

It's probably not helping but I think some models of classic only run about 0.7 bar standard. Either a misfire or air leak could cause a lack of boost .

Have you checked vac lines and intake tract for signs of cracking or splits ?

How were the plugs any particular one blacker that the rest ?

Are you getting any codes on the ecu ?
