You'd have to drive like a very nice boy and probably be limited on mileage but you'd be insured and may be cheaper. What price were you expecting or hoping to pay? I'm not sure on black box companies. Probably best to google for them. WillL Posted June 10, 2016 Share Posted June 10, 2016 OP - my son has a 2011 Punto, is 18 and the insurance was just over £1K. We are with Direct Line and he has a black box. We also have other cars at the same address so we all benefit from a multi car discount. A tip for you (if you don't know this), add named drivers with experience onto your insurance. By adding me to his insurance it came down and adding my wife brought it down further.
