Sirspidey Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 Hi all i have a 2005 wrx. I've done an oil change, but the filer on the car is a blue one, while the one I bought is black and the black one is larger in size. I took the old blue one off to see any other differences, but none the oil seals are the same size and the new one screws in the same. Have I got the wrong filter? many thanks
Linx Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 You got the right one 😊. Sent from my HTC Desire 530 using Tapatalk
Sirspidey Posted November 7, 2016 Author Posted November 7, 2016 Thanks I was getting a bit worried. I put it on as my gut told me it was right. And no leaks. Happy days
Scoobyghost Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 Stick with the black Subaru filters. They changed the design on the blue ones and problems have been reported
Sirspidey Posted November 8, 2016 Author Posted November 8, 2016 Don't think it's a Subaru part. I ordered it from my local car parts supplier, they have never let me down yet. I've still got the box, I'll have a look later and see what make it is.
stants Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Black subaru filters =jdm Blue subaru filters = rest of world Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk White ones are for the newer fa engines I believe
Sirspidey Posted November 8, 2016 Author Posted November 8, 2016 That's the black one I've got, in the picture. But the blue one that was on the car is narrower in diameter. The seals are the same size and the black one screws on perfectly. ???
stants Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 It's all good, black or blue both do the same job, although if you read the internets the black ones are supposed to be better And being jdm instantly gives you 5+ bhp 😂 Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
Sirspidey Posted November 8, 2016 Author Posted November 8, 2016 Thanks. So my little 285bhp could be 290 now? Happy days
