Maybe a slight crack in a pipe or something?

I dread to think what piggy would buy if he had crack in a pipe , last time he got some rum down him he bought a random dump valve [emoji23]

But your right it could well be a vac line, intake pipework or inlet air leak loosing boost .

Any codes or other symptoms?

Hmmmm, starting to think it may be the actual rum induced eBay bov leaking .... Unless I've made a mistake fitting the intercooler some how, it does seem to reach better boost in 4th and 5th, wasn't pulling any timing, well, any more than usual haha, I had also takes the silicone inlet pipe of earlier to check turbo shaft play, there seems to be enough play to pretty much let the inlet blades touch the casing when no oils circulating, and I do get a weird "noise in a tube" effect at times, anyway, new engine on the horizon so gonna not worry bout it too much
