Jusd finished fiting my intercooler and im geting lodes of turbo chatter I have a bov fitted is there anything I can do to stop it

I get chatter on the hatch with my front mount,strangely only at low rpms,if i give it some its fine.would havin it maped sort it,maybe [emoji53]

Well iv done the turbo mapping to reduce the lag but it just seems im not getting rid of the waste air fast enough

What bov you got.is it adjustable,diffrent strengh springs.i dont no much about them really but softer spring wont that let pressure out easyer.

Mine chatters, its pretty common for it to do it after a front mount is fitted

Mine chatters also very loud only on low boost then dumps normal on full

I think it's due to the positive pressure in the fmic pipework and core pushing back at the turbo when you let off the gas.

 

You could fit a weaker spring to the bov so it releases boost to a lower pressure or fit a recirc valve instead of vta [emoji6]

 

Me personally, I like the flutter and have a stronger spring in my old school bailey's to make it do it all the more [emoji108]

I like the flutter as well.prefer it to the whoosh from the bov

If it's a TD, apparently they can take the chatter as they are fairly robust turbos....

Nice, i wouldn't worry too much then... if anything the age of it will be more of a factor than the chatter
