SRMXEX
Hi all I'm trying to map my 2001 wrx but with no success. My local mapper had tried twice now and can't get into my ECU. He telling my to piggy back it. Is it worth it ? And what have you all done to yours? Thanks in advance 👍🏻👍🏻
savage bulldogs
Does your local mapper map a lot of scoobies ? I think most mappers use ecutek software to map the oe subaru ecu ,what software is your mapper trying to use and has the car been mapped already (if so by who) ? SRMXEX
Not sure what he has tried tbh but he is what people rave about round here with a great reputation 👍🏻 I'm now looking at a HKS fcon to do the trick
Tidgy
Be very very wary of piggy back stuff, while i don;t know the fcon itself if its like typical bolt on stuff more then likely blow up your engine. 2001 will be ecutek mappable
savage bulldogs
You do have to pay a licence fee to use ecutek but it is probably the most tried n tested way of remapping bug's and blobeyes oe ecus . So although i use a mapper thats good with all marques of cars (not just scoobies ) he knows and owns what software is needed to map each type of ecu's . Maybe try getting a quote off a mapper who already has experience with ecutek and scoobs .
Sirspidey
Agree with above. I went to get mine mapped and found out it was using ecutech software. Went to a mapper that uses the software and they had no problems. Try elsewhere if I was you.
