JapaneseImportForesterSTI
This was my father’s car. He was a car enthusiast (among other things!). We have been driving it since he passed away. The car is a Japanese import Forester STI. 2.5 petrol turbo. 11 years old. 60,000 miles. The engine has also been tuned. The most important point is that this car goes like **** off a shovel. I am not sure of the exact 0-60, but the mechanic said that it is the fastest Subaru he has ever seen. The mid-range acceleration is insane, and it just keeps on going – it has so much to give. The mechanic also said that the car is basically sound (and in fact encouraged one of his friends to make an offer for it). We have been using it as a family car, but we are now swopping for a Skoda Superb! There are some issues with the car. (1) It needs a new wing mirror to get through the MOT, as the repeater light is not working very well due to a minor bash in a supermarket car park. (2) It needs a new exhaust. We had the job priced at £500 from “pipe dynamics” in Leven (Fife), after the mechanic had called them to explain what was required. (3) For the above reasons, we have not put the car through the MOT, which came up 2 months ago. We were using it regularly up until that point. Nothing beat us from the lights when we were going to collect the kids from nursery! (4) Also there was a minor bash in the tailgate area when we reversed into something - photograph included. Basically, it’s an amazing car, but is not quite suited to our needs, and it has come to the point where we want to hand it over to a true enthusiast who will enjoy it to the full. We are willing to consider any *reasonable* offer, bearing in mind that this is a special car, so much fun, as well as being relatively low mileage. JapaneseImportForesterSTI
Sold. For £5000. Maybe a little lower than we might have liked, but it was time to pass this car on to someone else who would take care of it and enjoy it. Thanks very much to you both for your helpful input.
