Oil change intervals for a petrol Xv?

Featured Replies

As the title suggests, I'm curious to know what the oil change intervals are on the petrol XV, my petrol forester (turbo) was 7,500 miles and the Diesel XV is 12,000 miles, so I would imagine it falls somewhere between the two, but cannot find any info. I think in America they suggest 7,500 but don't know if we will be any different. Maybe someone with a petrol could let me know what the service booklet says.

My 2018 Petrol 2.0l XV is 12K.

While warranty is valid i would suggest doing them as per the book (i'll ask me dad next time i see him what it says, his is a 2.0 petrol). although i do think manufactures are rather liberal with the truth about how long oil lasts before it needs changing.

Turbo'd cars 5k or 12 months.

The service book that came with our 2017 XV states 12k / 12M for normally aspirated 1.6, 2.0 and 2.5 petrol engines. I've (hopefully) attached the service schedule below...

Sorry about the poor quality. The scanner is misbehaving so had to use the phone.

The "Service and Warranties Booklet" isn't XV specific, it's generic (hey, this is Subaru!)

Grainy photo attached...

(Although there was a 1.6 XV in the early days, around 2012)
