Scoobychi Posted March 2, 2020 Posted March 2, 2020 (edited) Hi Everyone im Chi im based in the South east area London. I recently purchased the Subaru Wrx Sti 2016 model and i have to say im really excited about the future mods i have for this car. Im pretty new to Subaru really need some good advice about maintaining and mods to achieve the 400hp mark without needing to rebuild. Edited March 2, 2020 by Scoobychi
Jay762 Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 Wotcha and welcome. Look at cooling the 4th cylinder & uprating your fuel pump, consider a fuel pressure regulator
Tidgy Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 Welcome, 400bhp without a rebuild? good luck that it manages to survive to that and i would expect a rebuild in less than 5k miles
Jay762 Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 Might be worth checking the CS400 spec as a reference, 330 340 on standard sti internals is pretty reliable so as Tidgy has mentioned you may be looking at some upgraded internals

Jay762 Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 Ok - so it looks like 400bhp without a rebuild will be high risk and probably short lived

Jay762 Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 Just seen a post on the book of faces about a tuning company in the US (Boosted Performance Tuning) that has managed to get 500whp (At the wheels) on a 2019 sti with stock internals. The turbo was replaced along with supporting mods there but the tune has x3 key factors: 1. The 2019 sti comes with 'stronger pistons' 2. Running E85 mix 3. The tune has been done sensibly with very little torque generated low down in the rev range so the stock internals are not over stressed, higher up the range full power is dialled in.

Also WHP is calculated differently and is roughly BHP flywheel figure, so 500 at the wheels is around 625 ish at the fly, not a hope in hell of a stock 2.5 doing that, maybe for a couple of dyno pulls, but thats it. Be very very wary of any information you get on Facebook as its a well known for dodgy info and cowboy tuners/mappers
