Inner tie rod jam nut size?

I got myself some 555 inner tie rods, but have just noticed there's no jam nut. Does anyone know the size of the nut? My old rods went in the bin months back, otherwise I would have tested those.

Although I've swapped a few tie rods and track rod ends , unfortunately I can't remember the size .

Like most scooby bolts it will probably be a tight "jap thread" you could try taking the tie rod to a hardware store and see if they have a suitable lock nut to fit  ?

Yeah I thought it was a long shot someone knowing, not exactly the type of thing you need to worry about usually. They aren't pictured with them, so I should have known really. But yeah, I'll see about going to the store - thanks, appreciate it.

Incase anyone else runs into this issue or are thinking about buying these rods: Unless you've managed to remove your old jam nut or are willing to hunt down the right nut, I wouldn't recommend 555 inner tie rods. With that said, if I have any luck, I will update this post to save someone else the hassle.

Try metric fine m16 x 1.5, I had to get some - did the same thing as you but it was a different model car so cannot guarantee

In stainless steel they were £2.00 per nut
