Jackpike Posted October 13, 2024 Posted October 13, 2024 I had a disaster today with my 04 SG the clip on bottom rad pipe failed not sure how far I traveled as only noticed when the heater was blowing cold and then I saw the temp needle was through the roof I got towed home thankfully to the AA but now dreading what damage has been done as she is blowing like Thomas the Tank Engine . Has anyone any idea of the cost to have repaired / thanks
Greenmamba Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 It mat be cheaper/easier/quicker to swop in another engine if you can find one. Costing when the actual damage is yet unknown is unlikely to be successful.
Tidgy Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Alot will dpend on what spec you go for and what engine you are starting with, what engines in it?
Jackpike Posted October 18, 2024 Author Posted October 18, 2024 Thanks guys for the replies I spoke to my mechanic and the engine will probably be fried so rather than chucking money at The Little Green Mud Bug for a replacement engine I am looking at buying a different vehicle now
greygathering Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 Mate that's rough. My friend had similar on his 05 forester, ended up being about £1200 at an independent garage. Might be worth shopping around different mechanics though, prices vary loads
