Lichtie Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Hi Everyone, I had to take my '07 plate Outback to the garage this morning as it sounded like part of the exhaust had gone. The garage told me that the part they had to buy could 'only be bought from Subaru' and would would cost £650 inc. fitting. Not a bill I was expecting! Does anyone know of any good places to get Subaru parts from that I could price check the bits I need? I'm not sure what the part is, I'm still waiting for them to give me the name of it but any feedback from anyone on reputable places for parts would be massively appreciated. Cheers Steve
Adam Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 From past experience that could very easily be true. Certain exhaust parts are impossible to get hold of anywhere else. In this situation most people go to an aftermarket "custom" exhaust center and get something made by hand. Still expensive but depending on the part you could save 50%. Or keep an eye on eBay and the scrap yards to get second hand.
Gambit Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Exactly what Adam said is best places to look. Custom does cost but best place to go if you want a good job, I still think it would be cheaper then letting them get the part too.
Jay762 Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 And if you get it made out of stainless steel you only need to buy once 1
